Kathe is a wonderful person (and mom), and I truly believe this carries through to her real estate persona. She is part of the Mission Viejo and Aliso Viejo communities, and knows both VERY well. She has many resources through her agency that she uses strategically, and knows values of each area and their "pockets". She is a pleasure to work with, and is available through late hours (we did text or email during late hours). The "good" was because during the sale of our home and purchase of our new home, Kathe was fortunate enough to take two vacations, one which limited her connectability. Our escrow times were during peak vacation times, so it could have been expected. It's a good thing to ask when interviewing realtors. Despite that one "good" amongst all other "excellents", I would absolutely recommend Kathe Van Hoften for purchase & sale of homes. p.s. For the purchase of our new home, she made NUMEROUS trips to the house for appointments. Not sure others would do that, and with a genuine helpfulness.

Kathe Van Hoften is a delightful realtor to work with. She truly takes time to understand your goals in buying a property and then works tirelessly to find exactly the right fit for you. I met three times with Kathe prior to moving to So Cal. Each time she showed me several properties which helped me understand what was available. More importantly, each visit enabled her to better understand my needs and goals. She was soon able to show me exactly the perfect property that fully met my needs. I immediately fell in love with the property and Kathe proceeded to negotiate with the sellers and, within 36 hours, the property was mine. I have worked with other realtors over the years and Kathe, by far, was the best to work with. My time was not wasted, she listened well and helped me get into the home of my dreams....who could ask for more?! Lastly, Kathe is a very kind person and pleasant to work with. I say this after working with some rather abrasive realtors in the past. Kathe's pleasant nature and professionalism is truly a breath of fresh air. :)

I was so fortunate to get a flier on my rental property exactly when I was considering selling it. This is not my first rodeo and thought an interview was a good start. Kathe's office is in Mission Viejo but it turns out she lives only a few minutes away from my property. We quickly scheduled a meeting/interview and it looked promising.We saw eye to eye on every subject and I listened to her professional suggestions. She was the Realtor for me. We listed my property for way over the last comp sale price because of the unit location, move-in condition, and this was not a short-sale or a sale under duress as most others. Other realtors thought we were crazy to ask such a price.The result was 8 offers in 3 days. 5 of those offers were over our asking price! A few were ridiculous low-ball cash offers from investors. But let''s get real here. We are not haggling for dried fish. It's a home.Kathe negotiated like a professional every step of the way and always had my best interest in mind and took no short cuts. I highly recommend Kathe van Hoften as your real estate professional. You will be glad you did. I wish I could rate her with 6 stars.
