This made it much easier to get our first home in a time crunch while also feeling eager and happy with the house we ended up buying Westin is also somehow laid-back and super amicable, so you never feel pressured during the home-buying process. Other realtors can be pushy and insistent, but Westin focuses on giving advice and encouragement, which is why we believe he is able to help so many first-time homebuyers build generational wealth through real estate. The sappy stuff: My husband met Westin about 5 years ago when I started graduate school. At the time, my husband was thinking about getting a home, but he was torn because we had to leave the Bay Area temporarily so I could start and finish my degree in Southern California. Over the 5 years, Westin has been an agent weve reached out to and consistently felt encouraged and motivated by. We talked to various agents because my husband worked as a software developer in the real estate space. Even with plenty of differing experiences with real estate agents in the Bay Area, no one even remotely compared to Westin. We never got spam calls or messages from him, and hed only reach out to see where our heads were about the home-buying process. We sometimes genuinely felt bad taking so much of his time for advice because we werent sold on home ownership yet. Fast forward to 5 years later and about 3 months before I finished my PhD (while also in my third trimester of pregnancy with our second child), we hit Westin and told him we wanted to close on a house as soon as possible. Westin took that signal seriously, set us up with recommended lenders, and encouraged us to shop around during the pre-approval process to get a good idea of our buying power. From there, he worked around our busy and tight schedules to tour dozens of homes when we visited the Bay Area for short stints (while still living and working in Southern California). We made probably around 5 offers on homes in the Bay, where we were competitive each time. We even had a few instances where the seller's agents were unprofessional and unethical. Still, Westin stood his ground and tried to at least work around them because of our interest in the homes. Ultimately, we got our dream house in a neighborhood we never expected to get into. All while also somehow getting sellers credit for a rate buy-down and closing costs (thanks to Westins advice!), which made our mortgage payment manageable and kept us with a solid lump sum left over for investing and as a buffer in case anything went wrong. As an aside, Westin sat through my PhD defense, which was a detailed talk on materials chemistry. He answered my calls and reassured me when I lost all hope in securing a home for our children to grow up in. Westin is the best agent, and I look forward to continuing to work with him to sell our home in the future. We cant recommend him enough!
