Mark is honest, understands the Charlottesville real estate market, and a demonstrate a capacity to have my best interests in mind throughout the entire process of buying my house. That is why I strongly recommend Mark MacDonald for anyone looking to buy or sell a home. I had never purchased a home before, and Mark did a great job of helping me through the complex and sometimes tedious process. In the beginning, Mark introduced me to the area by driving all around town and into Crozet. Mark had a great sense of the area, but when questions came up about which Mark didn't know the answer, he readily admitted as such and quickly did his research to supply the information. I grew to trust him quickly.Once I narrowed down the location and price range, Mark was able to take me through a property and make clear the upside and downsides. He had a nice eye regarding the structure of a house. As such he made clear to me what I could do (or not do) with a property.Mark responded very quickly when a new property came on the market. As a result, we were able to make a fast move on the property I ended up purchasing. Once we went under contract and had to research various aspects of the house, I was able to fully trust Mark's array of contacts. For instance, when someone came out to look at the roof or check the attic, the fact that Mark recommended them made it easier for me to hear them out, accept their analysis, and move on to the next thing.As we moved closer to closing, Mark had a good feel as to how to properly negotiate in a way that got me to the lowest price possible without making a mistake that would lose upset the sellers and lose the contract. All in all, I'm in debt to Mark for helping me buy a dream home.
