Wendy was the listing agent for a home we purchased. In the MLS listing she stated "New roof backed by a 10-year warranty". We asked multiple times for the roof information/documentation but our requested was not answered until the day of closing we received the roofing companies information. The day after we closed I contacted them to get the roof warranty transferred to us and was informed then that it DID NOT have a 10 year warranty but a 5 year warranty. The warranty gets extended to 10 years if you have their maintenance/inspection done and paid for each year for the first 5 years. Our realtor reached out to explain that this was falsely stated and misleading in the MLS and we were told by Wendy, " Well, I went by what the homeowner told me" not taking any responsibility for what she l wrote and did not get documentation to back up. Her business practice is unethical and dishonest. The listing should have stated " Roof warranty can be extended to 10 years with an additional maintenance plan/fee that is paid for by the buyer"
