Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Great Smokys Realty

We purchased a vacation rental through this brokerage, and our experience was disappointing. The property was advertised in the MLS as having a heated walkout basement. After closing, we discovered that our basement would not heat above 64A?F during the winter, despite being advertised as heated. We obtained HVAC evaluations and have since learned that installing a separate mini-split system will likely cost several thousand dollars to make the space comfortably usable year-round. We also experienced an issue with an escrow agreement related to plumbing repairs that resulted in us paying an additional expense after closing that we believed should have been covered through escrow. We filed a complaint with the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. The Commission ultimately chose not to pursue disciplinary action, but that did not change our disappointment with how these issues were handled or the unexpected expenses we incurred. While others may have had different experiences, ours involved significant post-closing problems, unexpected costs, and a great deal of time spent trying to resolve issues that we did not expect when purchasing the property. Based on our experience, we would not choose to work with this brokerage again.

Absolutely was fantastic. She was through in explaining everything step by step and getting all of the information we asked from her. I would highly recommend her to friends and family.

We just recently purchased a house through Christy Mitchell in Bryson City, NC and she has done a great job getting us all the information we needed and then some. We were very pleased at how smooth the purchase went, we couldnt have asked for a better realtor. We definitely recommend her if you are looking to buy or sell real estate.

Christy was there for us every step of the way! She was able to help over rough spots. She is caring and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her!!!!! .
