Our experience with MarcumSold Realtors, specifically Amanda Marcum and Kelli Hunt, has been frustrating, unprofessional, and deeply disappointing. My husband and I requested in writing to end our Exclusive Right to Sell Agreement early for our home in Lexington, KY. Instead of simply honoring that request, we were sent an invoice for $600 in photography fees, which we promptly paid via Venmo to Amanda Marcum. This fee is only due if the listing agreement is terminated early, meaning our request to terminate was clearly understood and acknowledged. Shortly afterward, we received a document titled aEURoeWithdrawal from Exclusive Right to Sell Contract.aEUR? What we were not told is that this form only removes the listing from the MLS and does not fully end the contract. This crucial omission caused confusion and delay, despite our clear written request to end the agreement in full. We ultimately learned this information only because our new realtor contacted Amanda Marcums office for clarification. We followed up multiple times via text messages and phone calls, asking for the correct Release from Exclusive Right to Sell Contract. Our messages went unanswered for several days. When we finally reached Kelli Hunt, she stated that aEURoeall documents go through Amanda Marcum,aEUR? effectively passing responsibility to someone who would not respond. Throughout our listing process, Kelli Hunt was our main point of contact, her name appeared on most documents and communications, yet when accountability was needed, she deferred everything to Amanda Marcum. This lack of transparency and communication was both unprofessional and disappointing. To this day, Amanda Marcum has not provided written confirmation of our release or completed the appropriate Notice of Release of Exclusive Right to Sell Contract. Failing to clearly close out a contract, even after collecting payment tied to early termination, raises serious concerns about how this team manages their clients agreements. In our opinion, MarcumSold Realtors demonstrated poor communication and a lack of follow-through. We would strongly urge any buyer or seller to think carefully before listing with Amanda Marcum or Kelli Hunt.
