Why did my mortgage payment go up??

Your mortgage payment is typically made up of principal (the amount that goes towards your loan balance, interest (the amount you pay in exchange for borrowing the money) and escrow (taxes and insurance) - if your interest rate is fixed then likely either your taxes or insurance increased. This was a tax assessment year for a lot of people and when the values went up that made a lot of tax bills increase as well.

I will always recommend Whitney to anyone looking for a realtor! She sold our old home and helped us find our new one. Whitney did a ton of prep work before she even listed our home. The photos and listing were phenomenal and made our home stand out against the other competition in the area. We were under contract in less than a week! She was also so knowledgeable and responsive to all of my questions. Whitney made a potentially very stressful process run seamlessly and we can't thank her enough for that! 10/10 recommend working with Whitney! She walked with us so thoroughly as we hunted for and then purchased a home in Tennessee (from Colorado!). I wasn't sure what to expect going into buying our first home or what to expect from our realtor. Whitney quickly proved herself to be genuinely interested in making sure we took our time and made the right decision for us. She was highly responsive and consistently working into late evening hours with us. Every question I had was answered within an hour or two. Every house I wanted to tour we were there within a day or two. It literally felt like we were her only clients. We had her undivided time and attention and I genuinely have no idea how she does it. She would point out the good and the bad in each house with us. She remembered small details about us and our preferences from our first encounter and was able to apply it to the houses we toured. I felt completely autonomous through the whole process and never pressured to go with a particular vendor or home. Whitney was absolutely fantastic as we were searching for our very first home! We were moving from out of state, which made things a bit more challenging. She helped us navigate through all the complexities of finding the right home, paying close attention to what we wanted as we searched. She saved us tons of extra trips by doing video walkthroughs of properties we were interested in. She was completely honest with any concerns she saw in each property that might be important for us to know. Whitney was extremely knowledgeable and was quick to return phone calls and texts when we reached out. When it came time to work through the offer and coordination with the bank, Whitney was our hero! She engaged every step of the way to make sure that everything was on time and progressing.
