Start early! Start talking to a lender and realtor asap so that you can start monitoring the areas you're interested in, learning about the market, and educating yourself on all things real estate. The more educated you are the more secure you'll feel in your decision and buying real estate is a big decision.
Start preparing your property early. The most return on investment is seen on exterior improvements to your home. Paint and flooring are the second best investments. Lastly, make sure your home is as clean and decluttered as possible before allowing showings. There are a lot more things you can do but these are the easiest for most sellers to wrap their heads around.
I have work well with downsizing baby-boomers, divorcing couples, first time homebuyers, growing families, and investors. There isn't a demographic I can't work well with.
I helped a client that had previously tried to sell their home with another agent and wasn't successful. I then found that same client an off market home within their price range and location and was able to arrange closings on the same day. They called me a miracle worker. I was just happy they were so happy, especially after having such a difficult time with their previous agent.
My mom has been a realtor since 1995 so I grew up around open houses, showings, inspections, etc... I always knew it was just a matter of time before I jumped in but I wanted to get other experience under my belt first so that is what I did. I went back to school and got my Master's in Business, started a number of other businesses, and then decided I was ready to jump into real estate in 2019. I am so happy I did!
I feel like everything I have done in life so far has led me to being the realtor I am today. I can help support and be the rock for emotional buyers and sellers but also I can talk numbers with the more business oriented buyers and sellers. I become what my clients need and always put their needs first.
