FAQ
1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Get Pre-Approved for a Mortgage: This step shows sellers you're serious and capable of purchasing their home. It also helps you understand your budget.
Understand Your Needs vs. Wants: Make a list of what you absolutely need in a home versus what you desire. This will help you make practical decisions, especially in competitive markets.
Research Neighborhoods: Look beyond the house to the community. Consider factors like schools, commute times, and local amenities that match your lifestyle.
Be Prepared to Act Quickly: In many markets, homes sell fast. Be ready to make decisions promptly once you find a home you love.
Hire a Knowledgeable Real Estate Agent: A good agent can provide invaluable guidance, from finding homes that meet your criteria to negotiating the best deal.
Remember, buying a home is a significant step, so take your time to make informed decisions.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Price It Right: Setting the right price from the start is crucial. An overpriced home can deter buyers, while underpricing might mean leaving money on the table. A real estate agent can help you find the sweet spot.
Enhance Curb Appeal: First impressions matter. Simple improvements like landscaping, a fresh coat of paint, or a clean, welcoming entrance can make a big difference.
Declutter and Depersonalize: Buyers should be able to envision themselves in the space. Removing personal items and clutter can make your home more appealing.
Make Necessary Repairs: Fixing any obvious issues before listing can prevent haggling over the price later. Small repairs can have a big impact on a buyer's perception.
Stage Your Home: Proper staging can highlight your home's strengths and downplay its weaknesses. It helps buyers imagine living in the space.
Use Professional Photography: High-quality photos are essential for making a strong online impression, where most buyers start their search.
Be Flexible with Showings: The more accessible your home is, the more potential buyers can view it, increasing your chances of a quick sale.
Work with a Skilled Real Estate Agent: An experienced agent can guide you through the process, from market analysis to closing the deal effectively.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
Throughout my career in real estate, I've had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, each with unique needs and goals. This includes:
First-Time Homebuyers: Assisting them in navigating the complexities of their first home purchase, from understanding mortgages to closing the deal.
Home Sellers: Helping sellers maximize their home's value through effective marketing strategies, staging advice, and negotiation skills.
Real Estate Investors: Providing insights on market trends and investment opportunities for both residential and commercial properties.
Relocating Families: Offering tailored assistance to families moving into the Sacramento area, helping them find homes that meet their specific needs in terms of location, schools, and community.
Downsizers: Assisting clients looking to move into smaller homes, focusing on finding properties that fit their new lifestyle while managing the sale of their larger homes.
Upsizers: Helping growing families or individuals seeking more space find larger homes that suit their expanding needs.
Luxury Property Clients: Working with high-end properties requires a unique approach to marketing and client confidentiality, catering to the specific needs of this market segment.
Each client type presents unique challenges and opportunities, and I take pride in offering personalized service to meet their individual real estate goals.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I recently helped first time homebuyers purchase their first home. I loved helping them navigate the different steps to getting into their home. They were eager to learn from me and were grateful that I was there to help them see the pros and cons of each property, so they could make an informed decision. After a month or so of looking at homes, we found the one that was just perfect for them! They were so excited to have their own place, and I gained new friends out of the process.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
Before I had kids, I worked in commercial real estate, flipped houses and had a rental portfolio. When my kids were old enough for me to go back to work, I decided that I preferred the relationship side of the real estate business. I became a residential agent and could not be happier. I love helping people achieve their real estate goals!
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
Not only do I have a degree in business and urban planning, but I also worked as the Education Manager for my brokerage for several years. In that role, I trained nearly 400 agents on a weekly basis. I moved up from Education Manager into the Mentorship Director position, which I hold currently. I re-designed the mentorship program and coach 20 mentors who are responsible for training all new agents at my brokerage. When time allows, I also mentor new agents. The training and coaching that I provide is fueled by my constant quest for knowledge and self improvement.

Valerie Gross is one of a kind. Not only is she a smart and kind person, but she is a fierce realtor who goes to bat for her clients. When we first met at her office, she laid out the whole process to becoming first time home buyers. She did so in a clear and concise way that made a daunting process more manageable. When we finally got down to seeing homes, we dragged this poor woman all over the place. Dirt roads, high fire zones, industrial areas; it didn't matter. She set everything up regardless of the location, met us with a smile and kind word, talked through all the pros and cons of every property, and helped us find our home. We found it and she explained the whole process of putting in an offer and those next steps in complete, but understandable, detail. She guided us through a tough negotiation and helped get us into our dream home. We love our home and are so appreciative of the hard work she put in for us. If we ever decide to sell or buy, she will be our first call. You cannot go wrong if you chose to work with Valerie.

Valerie exceeded our expectations and have set the standards very high for a relator. We've worked with 3 different realtors in the past and have found Valerie to be the best realtor we've had. Why? She demonstrated knowledge of the areas we were looking at. She always came prepared with information on the home. Not only did she identify parts of the homes that may be a concern during appraisals, she also provided solutions to the concerns and how she can help us resolve them if needed. We never felt pressured to buy a home. When we bought the home, she even provided us with a house warming gift and remote garage clickers that were not given to us at the time of purchase. After buying the home, she even checked in with us to see if there were anything else we needed help with such as repairs and had a list of contractors she could offer us. We appreciated her help. The most memorable part of buying a home with Valerie's support was when an error on the last day of escrow and not being able to reach the escrow officer to fix it caused me anxiety and Valerie sprung right in to reassure me that everything will be okay and ensured this error was taken care of right away. She was really good at helping me manage my emotions throughout this stressful process and I trust that she will do the same for you.

We were referred to Valerie through a recommendation from a friend. From the first meeting we were convinced she was a perfect fit for us. She was approachable and down to earth, allowing room for us to express concerns or hesitations and ask plenty of questions. We knew next to nothing when it came to the home buying process but Valerie was more than willing to explain in simple terms what the process would look like without piling on too much information at once. She always helped us to focus on what was in the immediate future and not stress over the details. We ended up dealing with an extremely difficult seller, to say the least, but Valerie never once backed down. She fought for us every step of the way. In fact, she began to seek out additional wisdom from trusted figureheads in the industry to make sure she was making the best course of action and executing it with the utmost integrity. In the end, we got our first home with additional fixes that we werent expecting. Valerie did that. She and her team are exceptional and I cannot recommend her enough. Partner with her on buying or selling your home. You will not regret it.

From first contact Valerie was great! I immediately had a good feeling about her. She showed sincere interest in our needs and plans and did not try to rush us or make our decisions for us. She left us with a binder of helpful information and followed up when she said she would. We decided to wait 6 months to list our home. When she called in 6 months we were impressed and immediately chose her over many others. The process working with her and her team was seamless and exactly how she described we could expect. We felt well served and our expectations exceeded. We sold our home quickly and with minimal showings. We highly recommend Valerie as a aEURoerealaEUR? and honest person doing a fantastic and professional job!

Selling or buying a house is a very stressful experience but with Valeries help and understanding it was a breeze. She went above and beyond, explained selling process that was easy to understand. Valerie was very prompt to respond with a quick phone call, text or email despite me living on east coast. She is well organized, an expert, knows the area well, has fantastic network in Roseville and surrounding areas. Valerie presents strong interpersonal/ professional work skills that represent her company well. Valerie is so nice to work with, I would give her 15 out of 10 and would highly recommended her!
