ZillowVERIFIED From my first phone call with Troy in May 2021 through the purchase of our home in May 2022, he was nothing but the consummate professional. Prompt: he was on site before us for every meeting, often guiding us to the correct location or parking spot. Patient: as we were from out of state with some personal constraints to moving, Troy understood that it might take up to a few years for us to actually purchase something, and was willing to stick with us for the long haul. Responsive: he returned our texts or calls usually within minutes, at all hours of the day and week (even from hockey games), and quickly set up video walkthroughs of potential properties. Experienced: not only does Troy have years of experience in real estate, he has long family ties with building renovation and construction; this enabled him to critically evaluate every property for flaws and needed upgrades, as well as unique features. Honest: Troy knew what exactly we wanted in a property and gave us his honest opinion of the pros and cons of each one we seriously considered; over the year he rightly directed us away from some and brought others to our attention that we missed. Knowledgeable: he informed us of many local developments that might affect our decision (regarding property values, water views, construction noise/traffic, etc.), as well as of great local eateries, parks, and sights. Unflappable: he was the voice of calm when negotiations were tense and had a backup plan for every outcome. Over-the top service: Troy went way beyond the norm in helping us get settled in, recommending a title company, locksmiths, and housecleaners, and delivering Amazon packages directly to our new place when we were not there to receive them ourselves. In a place like Portland where everyone seems to know everyone else, we feel very lucky to consider Troy our first friend and neighbor there.

Troy is thorough, honest, and has a lot of knowledge and open mindedness with each property he lists. He has a keen sense to envision you in the home and takes the time to get to know you and deeply thinks and considers all aspects and challenges a home brings so that proper feedback can be given. He is also very calm and patient, which are key attributes when handling excited people looking at multiple homes. I will use Troy again and again to buy homes. Just as we were fading after being up all night packing, Troy and Jourdan arrived with Troy's oversized truck, a can-do attitude and good cheer, taking over the task of bringing stuff to Goodwill and helping us move other stuff into our U-Haul. We asked the trusted real estate agent listing our house in Colorado to recommend an agent in southern Maine. He checked and based on the performance records of the agents he reviewed recommended Troy Wilkins. We were in contact with Troy by e-mail while our house in Colorado was on the market; we described the type of home we wanted and, since we didn't know how long it would take to find the new house, asked him to look into temporary rentals as well. He followed up. During our subsequent house-hunting trip, he showed us a number of homes that might fit our requirements; he also provided for our consideration a number of rental units in case we needed to rent for a while. However this was unnecessary since at the end of the week during which he escorted us to various houses for sale, we found the ideal home for us. For example, I was traveling on business in upstate New York and the builder needed us to select and deliver lighting on very short notice to the house.
