I found Doug through the purchase of a new home. He represented the seller. He provided a calm atmosphere at the open house which was an unusual experience for me. We engaged Mona to represent us in our search for a home in McLean, VA. As VA-backed borrowers, our situation had some unique parameters, and Mona developed a tailor-fit strategy to identify a set of properties that fit within our search limits. Areas where we were particularly impressed: (1) Her insight into the local DMV market: Mona knew which streets were most sought after, which were in a flood zone, which had busy traffic during rush hour, etc.; (2) Her network: Mona knew nearly all of the listing agents and major financiers in our market. Further, once we identified a property, she shared a deep list of contractors with us (upon our request) to bid on specific projects we wanted to execute; (3) Her valuation expertise: Mona routinely commented as to which properties were priced appropriately (in a very dynamic market) and she was frequently proved correct once the property was sold. In the case of the house we purchased, her valuation prediction was nearly spot on; and (4) Her focus on the client: Mona paid very close attention to our wish list and didn't stray from our must-haves. The properties she presented to us all made sense. There were no outliers. This process took some time, and we never felt rushed or pressured to find a property. Mona earned a commission of course, but the emphasis is on the word 'earned'. She was available for us every time we reached out, guided us when we sought her expertise, and saw our success as an extension of her own. There are not enough accolades I can cite for Mona Banes. She was a life-saver at a very difficult time for me. Mona took charge and successfully sold all 3 of my properties. She was actively involved in the design and renovation of all 3 properties , monitored the work being done, worked closely with my building management to clear obstacles that arose, got all 3 properties staged, and kept me informed every step of the way, much of the time while I was temporarily residing in another State. Choosing Mona as our realtor was a fantastic decision. As first-time home buyers, the home buying process was totally foreign to us. However, Mona did an amazing job at explaining every step of the process. She was exceptionally responsive; we almost never waited more than a couple of hours to hear back to texts or calls. When touring homes, she was great at pointing things out to us that we may not have noticed (or wouldn't know to check as first-time buyers). When we were ready to make an offer, she provided solid analysis on the price. Buying a home is a stressful process, and I cannot imagine having to do it with anyone other than Mona!
