I called her slightly panicked about finding a decent rental for a work project in the DC Metro area and she was able to send me options right away, answer my questions, and truly advocate for me through the entire process. Her follow up has been outstanding, she even showed up the day I moved in to ensure the Landlord took care of all the committments in the lease. Review Tomeka Givens was the epitome of professionalism, and it was such a joy to work with her. She was never more than a phone call, text, or email away during the entire process. I was a first-time home buyer, and skeptical of many realtors because of the bad experience my brother had with his previous realtor. However, Tomekas expertise blew me away so much so that I recommended her to my brother after our first showing and we both bought homes with her within a few weeks! I have quite an unforgiving schedule and Tomeka had no problem showing me at least 5 homes each time we went out. She recommended the best lender, for the job and kept me well informed of all the financial incentives for which I qualified. Review Working alongside Ms. Givens, I quickly realized that she was more about service than merely sales. She was easy to talk to and she often time provided expert advise to ease my buyer anxiety and at times fear. She is very knowledgeable of the local market and has lots of networking connections that were there to provide me with services such as home inspector, mortgage and lending companies, etc. She was never overbearing and always allowed me to make my own decisions. She learned my style and taste for nice things, which helped her to develop selected housing listings for me to peruse and select from. It is via working with Ms. Givens that I learned I had to make a decision to choose either "faith" or "fear." I went with "faith" and decided to not bail out of the home buying process. Review First, I have to apologize to Ms. Givens for my tardiness in giving her a review. I received the keys to my new home on May 4th. Yikes!!!Ms. Givens responded to an inquiry I made on a home that looked really good online. When she walked me through the home I quickly realized that it would not be a good fit for my family. Instead of Ms. Givens trying to sell me on that home, she asked questions about what I wanted. Her interest was more on meeting my needs. She listened, asked more questions, and educated me about other options I knew nothing about. Her professionalism and friendliness eased my concerns about the process. Ms. Givens was confident in her knowledge of how to avoid common mistakes. She wasnt pushy or irritated with my mounting questions. Sometimes she answered the same question twice. She understood that I was new to this. Within one week Ms. Givens emailed me a picture of the home where I currently live. The pictures didnt do this place any justice, but I was impressed with the fact that Ms. Givens found a home that did not have a lot of front steps, which was an absolute on my wish list. We arranged for a walk through. It was a good fit for my family. The price was manageable. It met my needs! Wow that was fast! Ms. Givens gave me specific instructions to move forward with the next steps. She was prompt in advocating on my behalf. She was quick to point out discrepancies in the paperwork. We met at Panera Bread and went over all, and I do mean ALL paperwork line-by-line. She wanted me to be clear on everything I read, no matter how many different ways she had to explain it.Even after everything was final Ms. Givens continued to follow up with me, asking about my transition and adjustment to my new home. And on a personal note of her character, she still continues to follow-up; its been a little over a month since Ive moved. This act of kindness speaks volumes to me. Shes passionate about helping others. If you are need someone in your corner who will not rush you into this life changing decision, and will work with you regardless of where you are in the process, I highly recommend Tomeka Givens. Through no fault of hers, the buyer's lender had to change the loan type and ended up taking more time than expected, and Tomeka not only kept a sharp focus throughout the entire process, making things much easier for me in my new home several states away, but also did extra work, taking on tasks that weren't really part of her job. She was able to move the process along when everyone else seemed at a stalemate.On top of it all, Tomeka obtained the buyer's consent to stop by the house after the sale and retrieve the Internet router, so that she could return it to the cable company. Otherwise, I would have been paying a possibly hefty fee.In terms of basic, committed customer service, Tomeka is simply the best agent I've encountered.
