One of my favorite recent transactions was helping a former coworker purchase her very first home. In her 40s, after moving many times over the years, she and her husband were finally ready to put down roots and create a place that truly felt like home for themselves and their pets. We toured several properties together, and while she liked a few, the market was highly competitive at the time. When the right home finally came along, everything fell into place — we secured it at the perfect price, and it turned out to be even bigger and nicer than she had imagined. Seeing her fall in love with the home was such a joy. Now, she works comfortably from her new home office, their dog enjoys a spacious yard, and she and her husband have a beautiful, open kitchen where they can cook and spend time together — something that means a lot to them both. I got into real estate because, in many ways, it’s been woven into my life since childhood. Growing up, my family moved constantly — by the time I was in middle school, we had lived in 24 different homes. My stepdad was a builder who created custom homes and flipped dated ones, so I grew up surrounded by construction, design, and the process of turning something ordinary into something beautiful. Naturally, I learned how to help with remodels and home improvements, and that early exposure sparked a lifelong love of homes. In 2015, I was recruited away from my job as an artist for Trader Joe’s to manage a prominent real estate team in Reno. My first year was a whirlwind — I worked on over 200 transactions and had to learn fast. Over time, I transitioned to a new team and eventually became a managing broker, overseeing up to 27 agents and helping them with everything from onboarding and training to navigating complex escrows. While I loved mentoring others, I realized I wanted to focus more deeply on my own clients — providing a higher level of personal service and attention. Today, I still coach and guide other agents, but my greatest joy comes from helping my clients achieve their real estate goals. I truly love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else.
