ZillowVERIFIED Our relationship started when we met Tamika at a housewarming, she had assisted a close friend of ours with the purchase of her first home in DC. She was very pleasant and it was nice to see the realtor who helped my friend secure her first place care enough to show up to the house warming - first sign. We immediately got her card and called her within a week to help us with our search. Buying:We viewed 25+ houses as our criteria kept changing but we eventually found THE ONE. Tamika never wavered and stayed in constant contact with us as we figured out where wed like to live, but our story was two fold. Once we settled on a new home, we also needed to sell our old home and who better than Tamika? NO ONE! We purchased a new home in Brookland, moved and put our other house in Deanwood on the market in November 2019. Selling:Initially, we got a lot of hits, then it slowed down. Within 4 months, in April 2019, we got an initial offer- GREAT. House was off the market but the contract fell through. After 4 months of inspections and negotiations, the house went back on the market in August 2019. A couple of weeks passed and the house is under contract AGAIN! Yay! Everythings going great but I'm December 2019, after another 4 months, the house is back in the market! We received our third contract in December 2019 and by this time we are weary because weve been through this twice already. Tamika was ever so calming and talked us off the edge multiple times. Her expertise and ability to read us allowed for this relationship to function seamlessly. After a couple of months into the deal on our THIRD contract, we were getting weary again because weve been through this before. Tamika stayed in constant communication with the buyers agent and the city in order to keep us updated and after 3 months under contract in March 2020, we finally closed. Tamika throughout the whole process was very patient, persistent and kept us updated. She was able able to connect us with contractors who could help us with items on the inspection list. She is truly a full service realtor and even worked on vacations. I know for a fact that when I'm purchasing again, Tamika is the only person I'm calling. Excellent work ethic, dedication, professionalism, social awareness, client representation and unwavering support throughout the entire process and she celebrates with you once the sale is done - a class act.

Tamika lessened the stress of the home-buying process by being supportive, informed and professional. We told her what our needs were and she listened to us. She showed us houses within our budget, that met the majority of our needs and kept us informed each time we made an offer on a house. Buying a home in the DC/Maryland area can be quite competitive. She was realistic with us but also very encouraging. For example, there was a house in DC we wanted to put an offer in on. She advised us that we had to submit our best and highest offer because there were so much interests in that property. We didn't get the house in DC, but we weren't surprised by it because she had already set realistic expectations with us. Because of her hard work and tenacity, we were able to buy our first home in MD, right outside of DC. Tamika is extremely professional, amiable and relatable. She was honest with us about certain homes and made us think critically about our budget, even when we were not. She looked out for us like we were a part of her family. We often felt like we were her only clients because she was so attentive to us (responding to texts immediately, calling us to keep us updated, sending emails on our behalf, etc.). I recommend her to anyone looking for a professional, educated, understanding realtor. I miss house-hunting some days because she was such a pleasure to work with. My home was a short-sale, she walked me through the whole process making sure I understood everything she was explaining to me and answered all my questions. When my home was put on the market she told me it would sell in 3 days and she was correct it sold in 3 days. I had to email her numerous times about items my mortgage company would request of me and she was on top it making sure it was handled quickly and correctly. My mortgage company wasn't the best to deal with but with her negotiation skills I was able to get everything they promised me and a whole lot more. From our 1st meeting to go over my decision to sale my home, I knew I was in good hands and everyday afterwards I never worried because I knew she was handling everything and did an exceptional job doing it. She guided me through all the bureaucratic steps and was especially effective when we suffered a serious case of vandalism - all of the copper piping was stripped out and the heat pump exchanger was carried away - $8000 to repair and replace. She also knew many local vendors when more minor repairs were required. She got a viable offer only two weeks after the house was listed, mid-winter, just after Christmas! Settlement was early April. She was always pleasant to deal with, totally professional, and clear about her requirements. I highly recommend her.
