What would life be if you live in a condo downtown? What about the Valley? A house in mid-city? I was initially overwhelmed by all those what-ifs but that faded away when I started working with Tamar. I said I wanted to look all over LA and we did exactly that, never once feeling pressured into making a decision. When looking at a property wed talk through the plusses and minuses and with each we both learned a bit more about me and what I was looking for. Inventory had been very limited and after a few months of looking I was starting to feel that it might be time to pause and give the market a bit of time. Then a listing popped up in my email inbox from Tamar. Tamar, also a Certified Financial Planner, understood why I needed to sell by December 31st. Even more challenging--California was experiencing some of the highest number of COVID-19 infections and deaths in the United States. The house was not particularly and easy sellaEUR"older (1921); the second unit on the property was uninhabitable making it difficult to get a conventional loan; most likely needed a cash sale; tenants still occupied the house; and I lived in Oregon. Tamar, with all of her many years of skillful real estate experience, closed the deal a week before the end of the year! Responsive to questions aEUR" Whenever I had a question, Tamar was quick to respond either by text, email, or phone. Communicates well aEUR" She explained each step as we started to go through the process of selling. She informed me when she was showing the house to potential buyers and the outcome of the showings. Committed advocate aEUR" During the final days of the sale, she checked with me to make sure the new lease agreement with the current tenants was acceptable since it was part of the negotiations. Knowledgeable of the area aEUR" Tamar was quick to realize that the neighborhood was in a desirable area. My house, however, was located next to an older brick apartment dominating the back yard view. She was able to take this, and other facts, into account in negotiating a sale price. Overall opinion - I highly recommend Tamar. She not only met, but exceeded my expectations. It was my good fortune to have such a personable and skillful professional successfully sell my house.

ZillowVERIFIED Tamar Asken is fabulous! We met a year before I sold my condo. Way before I hired her as my realtor, she met with me several times to offer suggestions on how to best prepare if I were to sell. I did everything she recommended, and voila, we were able to substantially increase the value of my unit, and sell it over asking price. The whole process was seamless. With all the challenges presented by Covid, Tamar was able to safely bring in potential buyers, and accommodate my work- at-home schedule. Within six days of listing we had multiple offers, and went into escrow! Escrow itself went smoothly and our buyers were super easy and accommodating. Not only that, Tamar also provided referrals for contractors, photographers, painters - everything I needed to get my property ready for sale. She visited many times to offer suggestions for staging, paint colors, and reassured me whenever I felt overwhelmed. I cannot recommend Tamar Asken highly enough. My only regret is that I can't bring her to the East Coast to help me buy my next home!

We sold our old house and bought our new house with Tamar, and we couldn't have asked for a better agent. In fact, if you had to ask me what her best quality is, it'd be a tough choice. She's awesome at explaining all the complicated legalese and scary real-estate mumbo-jumbo. She's amazing at finding solutions to unexpected problems (we had some strange contractual/financial hiccups when trying to sell our old place, and she didn't sleep till she found a way around them). She's unbelievable at never flagging or giving up... even when you've been searching for months and you're sure she's sick of all your stupid, naive questions. She's awesomely level-headed when assessing the pros and cons of each place. Our search was a long one, but Tamar saw us through. The truth is, now that it's over, I'm not sure what we'll do without talking to her every day... although we'll probably come up with some excuse to call her anyway.
