1.  What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?

One of the biggest pieces of advice I would give a buyer is to prepare both financially and emotionally before starting the home search. Get fully pre-qualified with a trusted lender, understand your true comfort zone for monthly payments, and avoid stretching yourself too thin just to “win” a home. The right home should support your lifestyle — not create stress every month afterward.

I’d also encourage buyers to focus on the bigger picture and not get too distracted by cosmetic details that can be changed over time. Location, floorplan, condition, neighborhood, and resale potential matter far more than paint colors or décor. In today’s market, patience, realistic expectations, and having a knowledgeable REALTOR® advocating for you can make all the difference. Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make, and having strong representation, guidance, and education throughout the process is incredibly important.

2.  What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

My advice to sellers is to remember that the market determines value — not emotion or what was invested into the home over the years. Pricing a property correctly from the beginning is one of the most important factors in a successful sale. The first days on the market are critical, and homes that are overpriced often end up sitting longer, becoming stale, and ultimately selling for less.

I also encourage sellers to prepare their home as if they are competing for buyers’ attention — because they are. Cleanliness, maintenance, curb appeal, staging, professional photography, and presentation absolutely matter in today’s online-driven market. Buyers form opinions within seconds. A well-prepared home paired with strong marketing and strategic representation creates the best opportunity for maximum exposure, stronger offers, and smoother negotiations. Most importantly, choose a REALTOR® who will be honest with you, communicate well, and guide you through both the emotional and contractual sides of the transaction.

3.  What types of clients have you worked with?

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a very wide range of clients and situations. I’ve helped first-time homebuyers, luxury home buyers and sellers, retirees relocating to Arizona, investors, second-home and vacation property buyers, short-term rental investors, families upsizing or downsizing, as well as clients navigating probate, divorce, trust sales, and estate situations.

Because I serve both the Verde Valley and Prescott areas, I also work with many out-of-state buyers who are looking for a lifestyle change, retirement destination, or investment opportunity in Northern Arizona. Every client and transaction is unique, and I believe part of my role is adapting my communication, guidance, and strategy to best support each client’s specific goals, experience level, and circumstances. With over two decades in the industry, I’ve learned that real estate is never just about property — it’s about people, timing, and life transitions.

4.  Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

One recent transaction that stands out to me involved helping out-of-state buyers relocate to Northern Arizona in search of a slower pace and a stronger sense of community. They had visited Sedona and the Verde Valley several times over the years and finally decided it was time to make the move permanent. Because they lived out of state, the process required a great deal of communication, trust, coordination, and education throughout every step.

What made the transaction especially rewarding was that we were able to help them navigate not only the home purchase itself, but also the transition into a completely new chapter of life. There were a few hurdles during inspections and negotiations, but because everyone stayed solution-oriented and communicative, we were able to successfully work through them and keep the transaction together. In the end, they found a home they absolutely loved, and seeing their excitement at closing reminded me why I love what I do. Real estate is often about much more than buying or selling property — it’s about helping people create the lifestyle and future they envision for themselves.

5.  How did you get started in Real Estate?

I was first introduced to real estate through the timeshare industry, which is where I initially became licensed. That experience gave me an early foundation in customer service, sales, communication, and understanding how meaningful real estate can be in people’s lives and lifestyles. It also helped me develop confidence working with people from all different backgrounds and situations.

In 2004, I transitioned into general real estate, and that’s when my career really took off. Over the years, I discovered that I genuinely loved the combination of negotiation, problem-solving, contracts, marketing, and helping people through major life transitions. What started as a career opportunity quickly became a true passion. Since then, I’ve continued to grow both professionally and personally within the industry, serving clients throughout Northern Arizona and building long-term relationships based on trust, communication, and results.

6.  Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

Yes — over the course of my career, I’ve invested heavily in both education and real-world experience to better serve my clients. In addition to being a licensed Broker Associate and REALTOR® since 2004, I am also Coldwell Banker Global Luxury certified, which provides additional training and expertise in luxury home marketing, negotiation, and client service.

Beyond formal certifications, a large part of my background has involved leadership and professional standards within the real estate industry. I’ve served on MLS, Risk Management, and Professional Standards Committees, and I was honored to serve two terms as President of our local association. Those experiences gave me extensive knowledge in areas such as contract law, agency law, ethics, negotiation, and risk management — all of which directly benefit my clients during a transaction.

I truly believe education in real estate should never stop. The market, contracts, technology, and laws are constantly evolving, so I continue to stay actively engaged in ongoing training and industry education to ensure my clients receive knowledgeable, strategic, and well-informed representation.
