About Stephen Hines

Growing up on at the doorstep of the Massachusetts North Shore in Winthrop by the Sea, Stephen developed a deep, genuine appreciation for fine craftsmanship in waterfront settings. From quaint, seaside cottages in Winthrop, to the grand estates on the cliffs of Marblehead and Manchester by the Sea, he understands what it means to live on the water and imparts those sentiments into working with clients who share his love for the ocean and the properties that surround it. In 2016, Stephen partnered with the State's top ranked luxury brokerage, based in Boston's Back Bay. This group specifically represented both buyers and sellers in downtown neighborhoods, including the South End, North End, Seaport, and Waterfront. It is in the relationships forged at this office that he was able to expose his city colleagues to the uniquely beautiful properties on the North Shore. In 2018, he launched this firm's first office north of Boston in charming Winthrop Center. Fast forward to 2022. With more than $150 million in residential sales closed, Stephen partnered with two of the North Shore's most talented sales agents to create a novel, upscale, and sophisticated brokerage: Lantern Residential. Located at 44 Woodside Avenue in Winthrop Center, the team at Lantern specializes in the coastal communities north and east of Boston. Stephen firmly believes that the waterfront communities of the North Shore are some of the most desirable in the State, and looks forward to building a prosperous, community-driven business from East Boston to Winthrop, Beverly, Gloucester and beyond.

Stephen helped us with a somewhat problematic sale. It was a bumpy roller coaster ride but he was always available if we had a question or concern. After deciding to put a pause on the sale in the late fall and taking his advice on improvements that would help us sell our home, we put the house back on the market in May and had a buyer by the first showing, getting the price we wanted. Stephen thinks outside of the box and can pivot quickly as circumstances change. We cant thank Stephen enough for being with us through this whole process. We highly recommend him if you are selling your home!

Stephen is awesome. I worked with him to sell my condo in Winthrop a while ago, and that process went so well, I used him this year to purchase further up the North Shore in Beverly. He is thorough, helps you make sound decisions, will let you know if something seems off, and is overall a great person. It should also be mentioned that IN A PANDEMIC, when most normal practices of real estate got thrown out the window, he was excellent at adjusting to the new reality, showing up for showings that otherwise might have been open house drop-ins, and making sure I didn't over pay for a property during uncertain economic times. He also was great about paying close attention to the purchase process after my offer was accepted. 10/10 would recommend.

If anyone can help make selling your home stress-free, its Stephen. He and his associate Gui are SUPER STARS! They were friendly & professional at all times and very knowledgeable about the housing market. Although the Corona virus crisis hit just as we listed our home, we followed Stephens advice on pricing & staging and were able to overcome the challenges presented and closed on the sale without a hitch. Stephen even located & introduced us to a wonderful realtor who helped us identify our new home in another state. Full service realtor. ??????????
