It turned out to be a great decision. Our biggest concern wasn't simply selling the house; it was figuring out exactly what we should do to prepare a house we had owned for many years while at the same time moving to Portland. Stella was especially valuable here. She was very specific about where we should spend money and where we shouldn't. She advised us on refinishing the hardwood floors, painting, repairing a section of retaining wall, what to address after the inspections, and even told us not to waste money replacing our very old washer and dryeraEUR"just remove them. Stella also handled the contractors, inspectors and staging, and got us very good prices on the work. Because we moved before the house went on the market, this was incredibly valuable. We communicated by text, email and phone and never felt disconnected from what was happening. We relied on Stella and Stephanie 100% when it came to pricing. Their strategy was particularly impressive. After the repairs and preparation were completed, they brought Realtors through the house, generated early buzz and used the feedback to help determine the right asking price. We ultimately received multiple offers and sold for considerably more than we had expected. They were also fantastic once the offers arrived. They stayed in constant communication with the buyers' agents, went back and forth with the bidders who really wanted the house, and kept us informed throughout the negotiations. They have different strengths as a team, although for our particular house we worked primarily with Stella because preparing and managing the property was very much in her wheelhouse. We couldn't have been happier with the result. If friends in Lafayette asked us for a recommendation, we would tell them that Stella and Stephanie are hands-on, dedicated, extremely nice people to work with, and agents you can trust not to steer you wrong.

We couldn't have made a better decision! From start to finish, Stella was the consummate professional--not flashy, just quiet, masterful competence and keen intuition resulting from her many years of experience. We were incredibly grateful for her calm, steady guidance and empathy, as we went through the emotional process of clearing out the house and letting go of 56 years of family history. The house was very outdated. But Stella immediately recognized where the value lay and had an intuitive feel for the buyer it would appeal to, which proved to be spot on. We were encouraged to make essential repairs and tweaks that highlighted its best qualities, but weren't pressured to do extensive upgrading that other realtors might have pushed us to do. Every aspect of the prep work was organized for us, drawing on Stella's extensive "rolodex" of loyal service-providers who love working with her: multiple inspectors, contractor extraordinaire Ramiro and his efficient crew, the fine staging team that helped with our furniture move-out on the side, amazing photographer/videographers, and others. Stella manages everything with a deft combination of toughness and grace. She personally picked up and returned numerous carpet samples to save time and simplify our choices. Stephanie was always there as a backup and doing her magic behind the scenes creating our web and social media presence. Communication and follow-through were superb! Even though Stella was working with other clients at the same time, she was always responsive, available for a call. She was 100% focused on us in every interaction. Another stand-out was the price-setting process--there was very thoughtful consideration of market conditions plus input from other realtors and, after being given the pro's and con's of various approaches within a recommended range, I really appreciated that we had the final say. Stella used her many relationships pulling out all the stops to get people through the house and it sold well over the asking price within a week! The sales process required acceleration, and to make things more complex, a neighbor was to list their property about the same time as ours. They took time to either bring us to homes we were interested or pre-tour them so that we didn't have to drive all the way out from SF. This easily saved us time narrowing down the in-person visits.
