What should have taken 1 month ended up taking almost 60 days extra. He shielded us from the politics, but also was kind and reassured us that things will end up moving forward. It was ultimately up to us whether or not to continue pursuing the property (which we ended up doing), but also advised us on what to do. When it came to putting my home on the market, he educated me on how to properly present my home to potential buyers, hired a very skilled professional photographer on his dime to photograph the home and surrounding property (the quality of the images far surpassed my expectations), and provided a very detailed listing that presented all of the positive attributes of the home. When it came to contract negotiations, I gave Shawn the financial parameters I was willing to work with, and let him handle it. He got me a better deal than I would have been able to get otherwise. ZillowVERIFIED Beware, Mr. McDonald can be quite deceitful. I originally listed my house with one of his agents. After a few weeks I decided that this agent and her agency were not performing to my expectations. It was mostly little things like being unprepared for an open house, not placing signs at the major intersections around my property on busy weekends, things of that nature. I kindly informed them of this and asked them to take the listing down as I was in search of a new agent. Skip forward several weeks and I had my house listed with my new agent and low-and-behold I get a call from Mr. McDonald explaining that I owed him an exorbitant amount of money because the listing was still with him. After forwarding back the cancellation forms his agent sent me he told me they we just to hide the listing, not remove is from his brokerage. After much back and forth and stress we came to an agreement for a smaller amount but it was still a very shady and deceitful tactic to re-coup some money. Make sure you keep an eye on everything this man and his agents do if you still think you should hire him.

When I began my home search I went online and contacted one of the better known realtors not once but three times trying to get some showings at various homes they were promoting on their website. Thats when I thought of Shawn. One email was all it took. We were on the hunt for the perfect home for us. He made suggestions and I did too. Within the next few days we saw at least 3 houses a day. We found our house during the covid experience and were concerned about financing. We had prequalified at a big bank but they would not return our call. Shawn helped us out there also. We locked in a low rate and closed in thirty days. Shawn did such a good job finding a house for us, our daughter and son in-law decided to have Shawn list their home for sale. They will be closing on their sale in one week. Its been a busy 5 months but working with Shawn made our experience stress free and as enjoyable as moving from a 27 year home to a new one could be.
