About Shawn Hays

Shawn Hays has invested 32 years in residential real estate, whether as a full time REALTOR®, a real estate appraiser, a home inspector or an educator of building contractors. Shawn obtained his Real Estate Broker license in 2005 and has become the President of the Durham Regional Association of REALTORS® for 2022. He continues to educate himself with Designations and Certificates from the National Association of REALTORS and other affiliates. Whether he is traveling to the North Carolina mountains or heading to the beach on the North Carolina and South Carolina shores, Shawn enjoys relaxing and exploring with his wife and daughter. The family has been to Spain, Mexico and Japan, where Shawn has pursued his interest in architecture. Experiencing different designs and styles in other regions of the world has helped him see houses in a different light. Shawn and his family look forward to their next destination. Having helped hundreds of clients buy and sell homes, and being involved in evaluating properties since 1995 (the beginning of his career as an appraiser), Shawn brings an insight into the home buying and selling process that is unique to each situation and client.
