Even though we were encouraged to use a local realtor to buy a new home we felt strongly about engaging Sergio and Ivonne based on our previous experience with them. Their attention to detail is impeccable! The day the photographer was coming to take pictures of our house in Elk Grove, Sergio was outside on a ladder cleaning a window that our professional cleaners had missed. He also trimmed a tree in the front yard when our gardener was late! He and Ivonne dug in and helped us prepare our home when we found out the photographer was coming 4 hours earlier than planned. We couldnt have done it without their help! When we found the house we wanted to buy, Sergio handled all arrangements with contractors that were needed to make the new house ready to move in. From the moment we connected via Dave Ramseys ELP network, we found Sergio to be an excellent communicator of what needed to be done, what was happening and what to expect. We were unsure how much updating to do versus calling some of it a blank slate for the new buyer. Sergio brought insight and suggestions that all hit the mark well. I recall something he said along the lines of aEURoesome people are good at spending other peoples moneyaEUR?. He clearly was concerned that what we put into it helped market the property, sell the property, and for the most part, pay for itself. Sergio introduced us to a set of contractors he knew well to help make all that happen. All were excellent suggestions. Further, since we were across country already, he acted as the general contractor making sure the tasks were done and communicating via pictures, texts and calls. Never were we in doubt that things were moving.In the middle of this, Covid-19 struck and the best laid plans went and put a mask on. Sergio helped us regroup, focus, and wait a bit for buyers to start coming out of their shells. Once they did, he helped stage the house and put in place measures where one could see the house and saw that it was cleaned after each visit to be safe for the next visitor. In the middle of all this, we found a willing buyer and with Sergios help, agreed upon a price that we had set as our expected price. Inspections, contingencies and timelines are all challenged in this Covid-19 times and required constant rescheduling. With twice weekly calls, we were kept apprised of the progress toward closing. If there was any questions, Sergio was always a quick text/call away with advice or an explanation.We feel many can list a house. Dave has high standards and I thought that might be a good way to find a good agent. I was not disappointed. I was struck at how quickly Sergio responded with my simple inquiry of him. I interviewed two agents from the Ramsey list, but Sergio stood out. Before I met him he sent us a full package (FedX'd) that included everything about the property we were going to sell, some details on Sergio and his team, his marketing plan, comps in the area, financial details etc. Some of the things I noticed about Sergio was his strong work ethic, he listens well & he knows the business of Real estate. I felt he went out of his way to understand and hear my thoughts and answer all my questions. He was very good about responding back quickly to every phone call or email I had. He would also refer me to people who he recommended that I talk with if I had more questions. It was obvious to me that those who worked with him also knew he had high standards and they too wanted to produce and do a good job as they were responding back to me. All in all I felt 100% that I was in good hands with Sergio's recommendations on many levels. It was the last property we saw in 7 and a half hours of looking on a Saturday, and Sergio was leading us the entire time. We drove 80 miles that day to find the perfect place, which turned out to be one of his recommendations. He doesn't normally spend that much time in a single day or even a weekend, but we wanted to go hard, and he said the equivalent of "let's do this." One of the first things we learned from Sergio is that pictures on real estate sites can be deceiving. What we thought we wanted wasn't all we thought it would be.
