Following my husband?s sudden and unexpected death, I needed a realtor to help me sell a beautiful but challenging property in the Oakland Hills. I had previously been approached by a realtor who ?wanted to help me? and who proceeded to tell me that my property was essentially worthless and she would be happy to take it off my hands - this realtor proceeded to offer me less than half of what the property was worth. I cried for 2 days. I was very reluctant to talk to any realtors after that encounter. I happened to share my experience with a colleague of my husband who suggested that I talk to Sedar. She had helped him on several real estate transactions in the past. Meeting with Sedar, and then hiring her, were two of the best decisions I could have made! Buying your first home is really daunting - theres so many things that are confusing: locations, pricing, layouts, offers, investments, bank loans, closing, mental preparation. I spent a hours a week for years obsessively perusing homes online, talking to agents, but never even thinking to buy because it was too scary. Every agent I talked to would make me feel like I was not anywhere near buying. Sedar is different. I met her and she told me immediately that we didnt need to rush, and that wed make a plan to get me there. My goal was to get a house for my birthday. She took me through financing, learning different locations, teaching me about offers, and finally helped me land my first home on the street I used to take walks on. She helped me learn about competitive pricing, offer strategies, and how to invest and get a good deal. I got an offer accepted... on my birthday!
