ZillowVERIFIED Scott is what every Real Estate agent should aspire to. We "worked with" multiple 'full service' brokers to sell our first and only home. We were subjected to the standard playbook of listing high to get the listing, pouring money into renovations that mostly benefited the agents contractors, and then subsequently receiving requests to lower the price incrementally and more frequently as the six month contract ran out. Then we found Scott who came in on day one and gave us an honest appraisal and marketing plan that resulted in multiple offers within a two week time frame. This was only the beginning of the journey however. The house was under contract four times over the next four months but never closed due to various reasons (including having the real estate agent we fired talking to one buyer on the front lawn during a home inspection!) Scott never lost focus and was never reactionary. He never patronized us and he took our angst seriously. He continued to believe in his model and it continued to work until the right buyer was found. More than a year later enough time has passed to appreciate Scott instead of dwelling on the overall experience. Scott will be my first call for any new real estate transactions we undertake in the Charlotte area.

Initially, Scott cautioned us that our asking price might be too high but I told him I would prefer to set a higher price and see how the market reacted. We were in a position that a quick sale was not necessary. Scott was correct. Our price was too high for the market and after 25-30 showings we settled on a price and sold the house. Scott was very helpful in helping us determine what items needed to be addressed to sale the house and which items might not make much of a difference. He was very responsive to us throughout the process and I felt that we received full services from him even though he priced his services on a flat rate rather than a percentage of the closing costs. Scott understood the market well and provided us with all of the tools necessary to market the home. He also was helpful during the negotiations and the closing process. I cannot say enough about how satisfied we were with the level of service and pricing provided by Scott's firm

With regard to our home sale, we appreciated Scott's honest opinion about how best to market our home in this tough housing market. His frank advice kept us grounded and though we had to substantially lower our pricing expectations, he helped us obtain a fair price on our old home. He helped us navigate through the negotiation process while at the same time, honored our personal priorities. With regard to our home purchase, we were impressed with Scott's dedication. He happily took us out each time we requested. At each home, he gave us solid advice, taking into account our priorities, such as the newness of homes, the neighborhood characteristics, and the local schools. He also warned us about things we never considered -- such as the type of home construction, the proximity to major roads, and maintenance concerns due to special home features (such as as pool). Though we ultimately decided to buy a home from a builder, Scott stood by us throughout the process. He was there when we signed contracts, when the home was inspected, and when we twice walked through the home with the builder's representative. We would highly recommend Scott and McClure Realty. We owed more than what our house was worth so we were trying to sale our house by owner until we discover Scott and his unique way of discount his commission to a flat fee. This was all news to us. We thought that you had to pay 6%. So we listed with Scott and sold our house in about 60 days and the service we received was second to none. ZillowVERIFIED Scott was a perfect buyers agent for us and assisted us every step of the way. He was very knowledgeable about what possible problems to look out for and was not just trying to rush us into any old house. I personally have a pet peeve of real estate agents that always sell you saying "here is YOUR dining room, here is YOUR kitchen" trying to force you into a house. Scott didn't do any of that, just helped us find the house that worked for us without pressure. Then when we found the one we loved, he found numerous comps and even toured a few more houses with us, to help with estimating the actual value. He helped explain the offer process and how to come up with a very strong initial offer and later counter offers. Once we finally had a contract, he met us at the house numerous times during the due diligence period. He helped with being there for the the general inspection as well as follow up roofing inspection and structural foundation inspection for items on general inspection report. Then he followed up withe the seller's agent to make sure they fixed the outstanding issues to our satisfaction.We have recommended Scott and Mclure Realty to several friends and now also consider him a good friend of ours too. We will definately use Scott again, should we ever need to buy or sell a house in the future.
