1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Buyers should first determine how they will pay for the home. if they are getting a mortgage they should get prequalified to determine what price range they should be looking in and to determine if there are any surprises on their credit report that they were unaware of. Once prequalified they should determine the areas that they are interested in. We can help buyers with finding the right mortgage person, the right locations and ultimately the right home.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Sellers should always look for an agent who has a lot of experience. The hiring process for a sale is very different than for a purchase. The sale of your home is a business transaction and should only be handled by a full time professional agent who has the resources to market the home to its fullest and who has a large network of contacts to market the home to. After choosing your full time professional agent you would want to focus on making sure your house shows its best. Find an agent who offers free staging advise in order to obtain the most possible for your home.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
We work with all types of clients, both buyers and sellers, as well as renters and landlords. We have worked with first time home buyers and sellers as well as people who have made over 20 moves. We have represented newly married couples as well as people getting a divorce. Our list of clients also includes investors and estates.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
We recently helped a family who we had already done 5 transactions for. This time they were selling their home that we helped them purchase 3 years ago and were moving 20 minutes away to get a larger house and a larger yard. It was truly enjoyable and rewarding to help them obtain their goal of getting their two little boys into a home where they could grow up. The situation was a little challenging as we had to get top dollar for their sale in order for them to afford the purchase and we had to do both the sale and the purchase at the same time. We were able to negotiate a post closing occupancy on the sale so they had time to make a few renovations before moving the kids into the new home.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
My background includes working as a CPA at Price Waterhouse as well as working in Marketing at Caterpillar, when I had children I wanted to have more flexibility so I sought a career in real estate. With the two different backgrounds that I had in my professional career, real estate was a natural fit. It gave me the opportunity to use both my accounting and my marketing skills while helping others achieve their goals.
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I hold a BS in Accounting, and MBA, a CPA license, and a Broker's license. I continuously attend additional training to stay abreast of any changes in the real estate world as well as in the ever changing world of the internet and marketing.
