ZillowVERIFIED I was living in Denver Colorado when I contacted Romei through a listing that she had in Charlotte North Caroline, I called her to let her know that I was interested in the house and about me moving from Denver in a very fast and short period of time without never been in Charlotte before, she gave me the bad news that unfortunally that house was already under contract but she could help me find another one. A week later my wife and I flew from Denver to Charlotte to meet Romei for the first time in person and to find our new home, we didn?t think that Romei was going to be able to find a house for us in 4 days (which was the time that we had available to stay and go back to Denver) but she surprised us and in only 2 days she found our dream home!. We put an offer on the house on February 23rd 2019 and we closed on March 14th 2019, we couldn?t believe that the whole process took less than 3 weeks!. Romei Smitherman has years of experience in the real state business and a great personality, she gave us a lot of tips and information about the living in Charlotte, had the patience to answer all of our questions and all the time that we spent looking for houses my wife and I could not stop laughing from her jokes. She did a great job finding the perfect home for us counting every little detail like from the location of the house (close to all the major highways, shopping centers, restaurants, etc.) to the most important one which was the schools around the area for our son education. ZillowVERIFIED My husband and I were moving to the Charlotte/Salisbury area and had done a ton of research over the internet in order to find a house to rent when we arrived. We made a house finding trip, spending over a week, and had to extend our trip because prospects were so difficult to find and many realtors were reluctant to spend their time helping us with rentals. Every time we found something nice, it was rented before we could get the realtor to respond. Then, one day, we found our realty angel. We happened to be driving past and stopped in Romeis office on a whim. She immediately sat us down, listened to our needs and wants, and looked through the realtors database. She found us several options within our constraints, which no one else had been able to find, and were not listed on internet sites. She took us to 3 or 4 of the best ones and we decided on one of them as our best option. She guided us through the process and we moved into the rental a month later. Throughout the process, Romei was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to all of our needs. It was a great house. The only problem was that between the time wed signed the rental agreement and when we moved in, some mold had grown under the carpet, possibly from an improper carpet cleaning, and the whole house smelled of a musty odor. My dog was having sneezing fits and I broke out in a rash. The owners realtor was dismissive, confrontational, and rude. They did not want to admit there was a problem and did not want to let us out of the lease. Romei guided us through the difficult process of getting out of that unsafe home, and then helped us find an apartment locally until we could find something else to rent. Then she began again, the process of looking for a house for us to rent, and we also opened our scope to include homes for purchase. By this time, we knew better than to try to find any other realtor to help us since Romei had always found the most and best options for us. Again, she found us a fabulous home, which was perfect for our needs and constraints, which we purchased and happily live in to this day. She expertly led us through our first home buying experience with thoroughness, attention to detail, helpful patience, and all with a great attitude. We were never left wondering what next or how to handle any part of the complicated legal and physical process of home-buying. Romei was truly a god-send for us, guiding us at every turn, toward what was best for our situation. She never tried to up-sell us or sway us toward certain options that might make a higher commission, in fact she did exactly what we asked of her, even when it meant she had to do a lot of extra work for just a rental commission. Romei was like a good friend who happened to be a great realtor, guiding us through a rough moving experience. She is a real asset to the realty industry, and is not driven by commission, like some unfortunately are. She is truly in it to help people find the best place for their life and family. We cannot recommend her enough, she is what good realtors should be.
