I had a small budget and was looking for a manageable fixer upper (if there is such a thing). Rob was incredible. We only looked at a few homes until I had found the one. Purchasing a home is never easy, especially when you have never done it before but Rob was beyond knowledgeable and held my hand through the entire process. He went above and beyond to ensure that not only the purchase of my first home was at a great price but also gave me the tools and connections to see me through beyond closing. He informed me of the Remodel NY Program through SONYMA and referred me to loan officers, contractors and community businesses to help me complete the process and have connections for renovations after closing. I could not recommend Rob enough, he is an amazing realtor and person!

ZillowVERIFIED I cannot recommend Rob enough. As a first-time home buyer, I chose Rob because of the recommendations of peers. I wanted someone to help me navigate the city of Buffalo. As a realtor, his knowledge is above and beyond the standard. He is familiar with the city in terms of neighborhoods, amenities, and the complexities of older homes. I found an older home that needed some work and Rob mentored me through the renovation loan application process, including finding me a great loan officer (and the first was not so helpful) and qualified contractors to perform the work. Additionally, he was able to negotiate a GREAT price for the home. I never felt pressured to do something with which I wasn't comfortable; he listened to what I wanted and followed through. He truly went above and beyond!

I looked at multiple homes with Rob in Elmwood Village, West Side and finally settling on my home in Columbus Park. Rob has no qualms going through the home with you and looking at the mechanics, offering helpful insight and suggestions. He's renovated many homes himself, so it's very handy to have someone showing you a house that can say "that wiring needs to be updated, it's going to cost you around xx dollars" or "that looks like it can get by a few more years, but you'll want to take care of it in the future."I've found that Rob really has an inside track and his finger on the pulse of homes that are going to be listed. We were able to get in right away on new listings which is important right now because Buffalo has really become a sellers market.If you are looking for a home in the city... Rob is your guy. He lives in the city, loves the city and breathes the city. Many of the agents that sell primarily suburban homes are not going to know the ins and outs of the old city homes. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest top-notch agent!

ZillowVERIFIED What a guy! The other commenters are absolutely right; he is the go to guy if you are looking to buy a house in the Westside/ Allentown/ Elmwood Village area. Being a first time home buyer, my fiancA(C) and I were incredibly anxious and really green to the whole process. He was unbelievably accommodating, experienced, professional and savvy! Beyond the skilled negotiating, he genuinely cared about us as clients; finding us a home that fit our needs in every aspect. We met him when we looked at a house he was showing and hired him the next day to help us find a house and then i signed with him as well to sell my house. My house had already been on the market for six months and I was up for a new contract. In the first six months without him, I had two showings. Mr. Karp sold my house the first weekend!!!! He has a great personality and is very easy to work with. He is very experienced in his job. I would most definitely use him again!

ZillowVERIFIED Our Experience with Mr. Karp was perfect. We looked at 10 or 12 different houses in the Western NY area with a focus on the Northtown's of Buffalo over a time period of about 3 months. This was the first house for my wife, myself and my soon to be newborn son at the time, so we needed a place with a good location around schools, family orientated neighborhood, and enough room in the house to expand the family if needed. He helped us find the perfect house. I think the location had been up on the market for only a day or two before we were alerted, and off and meeting him at the front door. Mr. Karp was familiar with the sellers local agent and negations progressed quickly once we told him it was the place we wanted. We closed on the house in a standard amount of time considering it had been on the market for so little time. If you are in the market for a new home i would recommend him 100 more times for you.

Rob brought what I'd consider to be one of the fullest possible understandings of the entire process and market, both residential and mixed use, that I could have expected to the table. From the initial sit down, Rob was able to understand my needs and desires in a home and was excellent in making me aware of available properties which fit into my plans and lifestyle.Once it came time to look at the potential properties there was not a corner of a building we looked at which Rob was not right there with me, be it a basement or an attic and each of which he had an understanding of what we were looking at and the importance of it.Being able to find the right property is one thing but of course no property sale is complete without money turning hands. After looking at several options and almost giving up our search, I got a call from Rob about a house in an area that we thought was way out of our price range. We went through it and fell in love. A week later we had an offer accepted. We have since renovated and now collect a rent that out pays our mortgage.
