Upon discharge from the Navy, Rob enrolled at Humboldt State University on the extreme Northern California coast. This was home for the next 24 years, obtaining two bachelors degrees, raising a family and building a real estate career with the wonderful team at Community Realty. In the spring of 2006 he and his partner, Caterina, moved to the medieval village of Canterbury, England to study for their Master's degrees. After a year and a half they had the opportunity to go to San Lucido, the small, Southern Italian, ancestral village of Caterina's grandparents, and while overlooking the Mediterranean Sea they were able to finish writing their dissertations. Upon graduation in 2008 they returned to the United States, and were lured to the beauty and mystery of the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico where they lived on the historical estate of the artist Randall Davey, as the caretaker for Audubon New Mexico's headquarters at an elevation of 7,300 feet above sea level! Finally, in 2011 they were brought full circle back to the beauty of the Northern Humboldt coast where Rob continues his practice as a real estate broker with his long time family at Community Realty, takes daily walks along the beach with Rosie, and maintains a painting studio in an old logging truck garage in McKinleyville.
