ZillowI met Rick at an open house that he was hosting in June. At the time I had my home in Florida up for sale, but had not had an offer on it yet. Rick asked me what I was looking for in a home, and I filled out an information sheet. He asked if he could follow up with an email to see if he could be of any further help., which he did within a week's time! Because I still had not received an offer on FL home, I thanked him for his time, and said that I would be in touch when I was ready for serious looking. In less than a month's time, I received an offer on my home and needed to close before September 1st. I contacted Rick and told him of my arrangements to come to Minnesota/Wisconsin area within a few days. He said that he'd be happy to meet with me and would get me set up with his website so that I could start looking at available properties that might be of interest to me. We met at the agreed time, and he had 5 properties to show me. He took his time as we looked at them, giving his own opinions of different elements of each home, helping me out with any questions that I had. As it turned out, the very first one was the best that I saw, and really liked it. I asked if he could show it again the following night so that my son could look at it also. There was no problem with him doing that. I decided to make a verbal offer, and Rick agreed to meet with me the following day (on a Saturday) to make the official contract. From that point on, he was very much working for me and making sure that my requests to the seller were relayed, calling me several times throughout the process of the seller accepting my offer. I then had to return to Florida to begin finalization of my home. Rick was diligent about following up with the mortgage process, making sure that I had the proper documentation and that my transition with the mortgage company, title company, and insurance requirements were handled smoothly and efficiently. Oh, and Danielle was also instrumental in all of this, too, keeping me apprised of important dates and offering ways to contact utilities, postal authorities, etc., as well as coordinating a final walk-through on the property. Rick was there at my closing, which went very smoothly, thanks to all of his efforts. He followed me back to the house where we found that there was an issue with the housing development's plans to lay fresh concrete the day that my moving company was to arrive with my belongings. He tracked down the onsite manager and relayed my concerns right then and there. He made sure that they understood I needed to be able have the moving van there on the day after they were to pour, so I wouldn't encounter any problem. He was very much my advocate. Inside the home, he made sure that all of the appliances, lights, fireplace, etc. were working and went with me to find where I would receive my mail. After searching a little, we found the box, though the lock was really difficult to open. He recommended that I contact the post office to come out and put on a new lock. Rick also made sure that my request for the brand of paint that the sellers had used was available, actually sending me a picture of the can with the brand and color. After wishing me good luck, he presented me with a lovely, housewarming basket of goodies (thanks to you also, Danielle), and recommended I contact the Association in regards to the concrete issue, just to make sure that everything would be ready for my movers. [Movers arrived on scheduled day, went smoothly, concrete poured the next day.] A follow-up call from Rick a couple of weeks later, was quite unexpected, but very much appreciated and just reiterates the value of Rick's professional and personal interest in my home purchase process. This will probably be my last move, but should I need to, I would not hesitate to call Rick and ask him if he would represent the selling of my home, or the purchase of a new one in the area. If anyone should ask me the name of a realtor, his would be first on my recommendation list.
