He's dead honest, respectful, professional, knowledgeable, and just a really nice and warm person to be around. He doesn't try to push you around or manipulate and he honestly does hold his client's interest first. The funniest thing was when we found him, we kind of already were talking to other realtors. He happened to be in the area and could meet us at another house we were interested faster than anyone else, so we gave him a chance. When we got to the house, he had already parked, was inside, with all the lights on, already noted a lot of the specifics of the house and was ready to answer any questions we had. The house wasn't much, and we were actually coming back from one of our "dream houses". We were so impressed by Rene that we thought maybe we should ask his opinion on the house. What he told us and what our then realtor didn't tell us was that that house was one of the most expensive in the area. He did a market analysis for that area and told us we would be overpaying, while our then realtor told us it was a great deal and we should buy right there. Our previous realtor wouldn't even put together an offer below asking, but Rene did. Rene made sure to keep us up-to-date on the entire process and did an incredible amount of work for us. Rene, never, not even once, never put his commission before us. We were never pressured to buy right then and there so he could make his commission. He always made us feel comfortable and he was honest. His honesty was thoughtful, considerate, and measured and I cannot recommend him enough. We ended up building, which is a very long process (about 6-months), and Rene was there for each big event and answered any questions we had for him. This is OUR realtor, and we will not hesitate to contact Rene when we need further assistance in the future. Rene Montalvo is the definition of a real estate professional. I seriously cannot recommend him enough.

We had a lot of specific criteria in what kind of house (1 story), 4 sides brick, lot size (1/2 acre +), flat lot for pool, with trees, gated community, near San Antonio shopping but not congested with traffic. Oh yes, also under 3000 sq.ft. It was much harder to find a home that met this criteria exactly and it would have been easier to try to sell us something else. But Rene never let us get discouraged and worked to help us find the perfect home that met our needs. We got to see many homes in many parts of the San Antonio area with Rene for over 12 months. Rene always told us not to settle for less and that he would keep looking to find us that perfect home.
