Zillow needs to add more stars to its reviews specifically for Mike Sher and his team. 11 out of 5 stars was our experience in every aspect of the process working with him. We initially met Mike in 2012 as first time homebuyers and he was our only choice when we returned to the market this past year. Not only did he deliver on what you would hope and expect from an agent, but his resourcefulness and knowledge was invaluable in all of the situations that came up we did NOT expect. We spoke with Mike months before actually listing for the sole purpose of understanding what the market would be like and how the process would work to both sell our current home and begin shopping for a new one. Looking back on that meeting it's remarkable how spot on he was from a step by step basis of what we should expect. He also gave us very frank and detailed ideas of things we could do to maximize the value of our home and present our property in the most competitive light possible. With some modest investments and DIY improvements we got our home to a point where we could tell Mike was excited to represent us and work his magic. Mikes knowledge of the market and how best to position our homes sale price wasnt just something he asked us to trust him on. He provided us with examples and hard evidence all along the way of what homes similar to ours, in our area, with similar interior/exterior updates were listing and selling for. He gave us as much info as he could so we could make an educated decision on how best to list our home. Not only did Mike help us secure multiple offers over asking price, he walked us through each one step by step and answered every question to help us make the best decision possible. A lot of these things are what you hope and expect from your agent, and Mike delivered in every aspect, but it was in the moments you dont expect or prepare for that his experience was truly invaluable. When issues came up during the inspection, Mike had the referrals and resources immediately at hand to help us quickly remedy what needed to be done. When our hot water heater broke and started leaking the DAY BEFORE CLOSING, Mike was a calming voice to both ourselves and our buyers, keeping everyone in the loop, providing a solution that kept closing on track, and Ill be darned if he didnt have someone in there with a new hot water heater two days later. As if knowing the market and every technical aspect of the buying/selling process wasnt enough, Mike is also just genuinely nice and enjoyable to talk with and be around. He knows when it's important to be professional and stand firm, but also brings a kindness and levity to a line of work that can often be the most stressful time in his clients lives. I cant begin to count the amount of times my family and I would have anxiety or worry about a certain stage in the process, only for Mike to calm us down with his aEURoebeen there done thataEUR? experience and sense of humor. aEURoeThis isnt close to the worst thing Ive ever had happen with a homeaEUR? is somehow equally what you do and dont want to ever hear your real estate agent say.
