He took us on a 2 hour tour of the area when we came to VT for the job interview in August 2018 and kept in touch with us for the following 18 months. When it came time for us to buy a home, he was so helpful during the process, especially since the pandemic really threw a monkey wrench in the whole process! My husband moved to VT in late February 2020 but I stayed behind in NE with our high school daughter. Mike made sure to stay in contact with both my husband and me regarding every aspect of our home purchase. That made me feel better since I was unable to travel to VT at all during that time due to the shutdown. He responds very quickly to texts and phone calls and makes sure to answer any questions or handle any issues promptly. ZillowVERIFIED Mike helped me buy my first home. I contacted him when my wife and I were looking at a property that he was attached to. I had some of my extended family in town so he first met me in addition to about 8 other people. He did an excellent job of showing everyone around, not just myself. I wasn't completely sold on the house because I thought the price tag was too high for the square footage of the house and so he asked if I'd like to employ his services to find a house that would fit my expectations, to which I agreed. We looked at several houses that were close to what I was looking for but there was generally something about each one that wasn't quite right for us. Through out this phase Mike was genuinely interested in finding me the house I was looking for and not just getting me into a sale. His insight on the features and systems of the houses we went to was very helpful and he answered a lot of questions for us on our first viewing that made it so we didn't need more than a first look on most places. We knew the houses were good houses, but they just didn't meet all of the requirements we had set for ourselves. We even revisited the original house for a second pass and put in a bid on the property since all that was wrong with it was genuinely the price tag. Mike gave us fair warning that what we wanted to put in as a bid probably wasn't going to fly with the owners but never the less still put in the bid for us and attempted to open negotiations. The owners had a number for their house and it wasn't close to the number I valued the property at so we stopped negotiations and moved on. The house that we bought wasn't on the market when we started our search but Mike brought it to our attention shortly after it had been put on the market. Both my wife and I were significantly more attracted to it than any other house we had seen so far. The asking price was reasonable but we still wanted to see what we could get out of negotiations. Mike made the negotiation process very easy and explained how negotiations worked with the contact that we had agreed to. Things like chimney and septic inspections were things that he insisted were done as standard without us specifically asking for them, which was appreciated. He was present for the inspection of the house and the inspector he recommended was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. Mike was very consistent with his explanations of what our next steps would be and what our options were as we proceeded to finish up the negotiation and closing process. All the little snags that we ran into were settled to our satisfaction and the closing processes was amicable and social with the sellers. I can fully recommend Mike to anyone who is interested in buying a house because he did such a good job of making my first, and possibly only, house purchase such a positive experience. I am extremely happy with my house and the process that it took to acquire it.
