We purchased our home from Michelle Theisen in January 2025, and what followed was a nightmare of undisclosed defects and deceptive practices. The problems began immediately. Within the first week, light fixtures fell from the ceilingaEUR"they had been "installed" with two-sided sticky tape. The stair flooring came up, revealing improper installation. The dishwasher backed up with water; the repair company informed us there was no air gap installed, despite this being explicitly required in our paperwork. Then the major issues emerged. After three months, we discovered wood shavings (frass/termite droppings) on a windowsill, then coming from the ceiling. When we contacted the original termite inspection company, they explained the house had been freshly painted during their inspection, which can conceal evidence. When we specifically asked Michelle about termites before purchase, she stated the house did not have themaEUR"a direct falsehood. The roof situation was equally deceptive. Michelle promised to replace the section where a disclosed leak had occurred. Instead, her husband simply added another layer of shingles over the existing onesaEUR"and did so incorrectly, creating pathways for water infiltration. When four different roofing companies assessed the damage, they found 4 layers of shingles in some areas. We had to remove all layers and install a completely new roof, which revealed extensive rotted wood and fascia requiring replacement. Short Term Rental: In December 2025, we had a women come to our home claiming she had rented our home on VRBO from Michelle Thiesen. The woman showed us her receipts for payment and we explained that Michelle no longer owned the home. The woman was visibly upset, she had rented the home for her and her elderly mother. The women contacted VRBO and was able to get refunded her money and we contact VRBO to ensure the listing was removed but this was a very frightening experience and could have ended badly. Michelle Thiesen never disclosed our home was listed as a short term rental, in fact short term rentals are not allowed in our HOA so I was shocked when this occurred. A later termite inspection uncovered even more. When we refinanced in January 2026, a new inspection company identified widespread fungus (dry rot) issues throughout the house. The inspector explained these problems had been clearly patched and painted over to conceal them and the dry rot of that caliber had to be present when we purchased the home. We had to have all affected wood removed, replaced, and repainted. In total, within our first year, we had to: * Tent the entire house for termites * Replace the entire roof * Repair extensive fungus/dry rot damage * Install the required dishwasher air gap ourselves * Address water heater issues * Fix improperly installed flooring * Properly install light fixtures Michelle Thiesen is a licensed real estate agent who knowingly concealed major structural defects and provided false information when directly questioned. She preys on trusting buyers. Do not work with her without extensive independent inspections from professionals you select yourself. A In total, we spent over 10 months in the first year alone addressing undisclosed and improperly repaired issues that should have been handled before the sale. What makes this particularly egregious is that Michelle Theisen, as a licensed real estate agent, had a legal and ethical obligation to disclose known defects. Instead, she actively concealed major structural problems through cosmetic cover-ups and provided false information when directly questioned about termites. A Our experience has been financially devastating and emotionally draining. We strongly urge anyone considering working with Michelle Theisen to protect themselves by: * Hiring independent inspectors (not ones suggested by the agent) * Scheduling inspections after any fresh paint or cosmetic work has settled * Getting multiple expert opinions on major systems * Documenting all verbal promises in writing * Considering a pre-purchase termite inspection from a company of your choosing No one should have to experience what we went through. This wasn't a case of minor oversightsaEUR"this was systematic concealment of major defects that has cost us tens of thousands of dollars and put our family's safety at risk. Buyer beware.

We were very lucky to have found Michelle. She is responsible, hard-working, honest, and goes well above and beyond a standard agent's duties. She very happily helped us overcome any and all issues that happened during the entire purchase transaction. She picked up the phone and answered emails whenever she was needed. She is knowledgable and delivered everything that is expected of a real estate agent, plus more. I could not have asked for a better experience. Go with Michelle Theisen!
