One of the transactions I'm proudest of started as a simple relisting problem and turned into something much more meaningful. The home had sat 238 days with a previous agent — overpriced from the start, with photos that never showed the home's real draw: a stunning mountain view that had been buried instead of featured. We re-shot the property, vignette staged the kitchen and baths, made that view the star of the marketing, and repriced for the season. We had an offer within a week and closed in 36 days. But the real story was what happened behind the scenes. The seller was the homeowner's daughter — her mother had passed away unexpectedly while out of the country, right in the middle of the original listing. What should have been a straightforward sale became a legal maze: securing a death certificate from another country, then convincing not one but two mortgage lenders to formally recognize the daughter as trustee. We hit obstacles all the way through, and the issue wasn't fully resolved until the final day before closing — but we got it done, on time, so she could move forward. That's the transaction I think about when people ask what makes a good agent. Anyone can market a house. What matters is showing up for the person behind it when things get hard.

My real estate story actually starts with my father. He was a real estate broker in Southern California for nearly 40 years and owned several brokerages during that time. When I turned 18, he wanted me to get my license too — I took a couple of classes but let them lapse. They just bored me at the time. My dad passed away in 1998, and when I flew back to California for his funeral, I wasn't prepared for what I saw. The church was packed — people lined up flowing out the doors. I was overwhelmed by how many people remembered him, had been cared for by him, and clearly loved him. That's when it hit me: it wasn't just his skill that people remembered. It was his integrity and the way he genuinely took care of his clients, his friends, his peers. That's what set him apart, and that's what filled that church. That moment is why I do this work the way I do. Integrity and client care aren't just values I hold — they're the reason I got into this business in the first place, and they sit at the center of everything I do for my clients today.

Two things shaped how I work with clients more than any real estate class ever did. The first is my AA degree in Psychology — understanding what people actually need, not just what they say they want, has been foundational to how I listen to clients and guide them through decisions as big as buying or selling a home. The second is the training I received in 1999 when I moved into new home site sales, right after getting my real estate license. That environment is where I really learned how to negotiate, and how to position a home so it shows its best self to the right buyer.
