It had been years since we hung out, but my wife and I had a pretty good idea of who he is as a person and how he conducted himself and raised his family so we knew we wanted him to represent us. Michael is a very kind and enthusiastic person, he is extremely hard working and puts his soul into whatever he is doing. From sports, to art and to his profession he is someone that pays attention to detail and ultimately outcompetes the competition. I assumed Micheal was good at his job but he exceeded my expectations. It was a pleasure to have him represent us and he was extremely useful in the sale of our home. I was having such a hard time starting the process. It was very overwhelming and he was pivotal in helping me with his calm demeanor, logical approach and confidence. His recommendations for the contractors always paid off. From the pest and home inspections, to the roof and gutters contractors, the painters, the HVAC or even the gardeners, there was always level of competency, a quick response time and they were fair priced and professional. Whenever I tried to get competing bids, there were delays and everyone was so busy it was difficult to get them to even show up. It made the whole process move along smoothly. There was never any issue of communication or anyone on his team. I have sold a couple of other properties and Michael did a better job than the previous realtors I have worked with and I would highly recommend anyone interested in buying or selling a property to consider him first.

ZillowVERIFIED After changing careers and having children, our family decided to move into a mid term rental in Petaluma to get to know the area in hopes that we found it to be a place to set down some roots. Both sides of the family are close by and we wanted to be near as we grow our family. To get the kids out of the house, we had been checking out open houses on the weekend to get a boots on the ground feel to the housing market. As a amatuer real estate investor armed with some knowledge and experice I enjoyed meeting several realtors and hearing what they had to say about the market and just simply getting to know them. The one that set himself apart from the rest was Michael Murphree of Compass. While showing an open house we visited, we got to talking and hit it off. He came across as a knowledgeable and experienced real estate professional with data driven objective views on the market and honest, friendly, and low pressure demeanor. Not planning on making a purchase for at least a year, I took his info, shook hands and left. Surprisingly we came across a listing that looked like a perfect fit and my wife and I decided to go for it. Of the 10-15 realtors we had spoken to, I immediately thought of Michael and we went from there. He provided professional guidance to a family, and as an investor himself, a business approach to the transaction. He was able to help strategize and negotiate on what became a competative property. As a people first type of person, he gained our trust and respect and utlimately worked to secure the dream house our family had been looking for at a more than fair price. ZillowVERIFIED It was such a pleasure to work with Michael during this new and very stressful time with COVID-19. Michael has a very calm demeanor which helped me center during moments when things felt like they were not moving as I expected. One of those moments was when we initially were unable to put the house on the market because of COVID and shelter in place. Another time was when one of the pipes in the upstairs bathroom sprung a leak that showed up in the kitchen after the house inspector left. He helped organized the plumber, the drywall repair person, and the painter. This was within hours we knew where the leak was and within two days everything was repaired and ready to go. HE went above and beyond the call of duty in a very caring way. He kept us informed in a timely manner and made this a smooth transition.

ZillowVERIFIED After two real estate deals in my life which were not a greatest experience, I met Michael 6 months before I put my home on the market. during that time he didn't pressure me and I decided to give him a try. He catered to my needs as far as timing and after numerous schedule changes we finally listed the house. In preparation to go on the market, Michael helped and guided me in making decisions on the work that needed to be done to make the biggest impact. He even showed up and helped me with some of my carpentry needs to finish off the house. As I'm not a real estate professional when Michael told me his strategy to market and sell my house I had my concerns. He wanted to expose my house, set an offer date and hold off on looking at offers until as many people as possible had a chance to see my house. Frankly I wanted to take the first thing that came along, but I went with his suggestion. I am so happy I did because after 3 open houses and all of the marketing we received 8 offers and most of them were well over asking. Once we got into contract Michael didnt stop working to protect my interests. He immediately put the second strongest offer into the backup position. That turned out to be a smart move as the first escrow canceled and the backup slid right into first position without even loosing a day. He negotiated strongly on my behalf throughout the whole transaction. I couldnt be more pleased with the service Ive received.
