Lo and behold someone came to take a second look. A sales contract was drawn up. The sold in only a couple of days and slightly below asking price. But, on closing day the buyer balked and walked out on the deal. After some angst Michael suggested that he reach out to other agents that have seen the house and again he came up with a buyer in only a couple of days. This time the closing went through. I would hire Michael in second, buying or selling. He is a good communicator, knows how things are done today, that is, knows how to use social media. He kept us informed of the process after the first buyer backed out. Is very good at communicating. If you want to buy or sell, hire Michael.

ZillowVERIFIED I rarely write reviews but given the importance of finding the right person to guide you on this grueling journey, it only seems proper to laud and give praise where it is rightfully due. Simply put, we were very fortunate to have Michael in our corner throughout our, at times, arduous experience. To rewind, I first met Michael on a Sunday afternoon. My girlfriend and I had been renting in the Twin Cities area since we moved about a year prior. We noticed our neighbor's house had been put up for sale that weekend and on a whim, we contacted Michael. He promptly replied and stated he could meet up the following afternoon. Now, I consider myself to be a well-researched, detail-oriented person [some would say 'meticulous' or 'picky' but I digress]. Upon first meeting Michael, it was readily apparent that he had years of experience in the real estate industry. Upon inquiry, he was quick to let us know about the difference between homes in the area built pre-World War II versus post-World War II; the importance of closely looking at the homes foundation to ensure adequate water drainage; the possibility of adding an egress window in the the basement to establish another bedroom; how the roof a few days after a snowstorm is a good indication of insulation, etc. As a first time home buyer, and as someone naturally curious, I appreciated all of his quips and insight. When we saw other homes, it was same story. He was a veritable fact book on what you want to look for when assessing homes in Minnesota. Again, I tend to ask a lot of questions - and he was able to answer everything I threw at him. Thus, I have to give him a "very impressive" score regarding local knowledge. Now, once we toured the home we liked and were ready to make an offer, Michael quickly reached out to the seller's listing agent and had an offer drawn up within hours [worth mentioning this was late in the day]. He took the time to call us that evening and carefully walk us through the litany of complicated clauses we were affixing our names to. Throughout the process, as first time homebuyers, Michael managed the perfect balance of giving us room to operate (i.e.: settling on a lender) and close guidance (i.e.: how to approach what we wanted from the sellers after our inspection). Again, it was apparent that we were dealing with someone with ample experience and "masterful" regarding the ins and outs of the whole home buying processing. Now, I already highlighted how quickly Michael was able to see us and how fast he was able to get our offer in (especially important within this competitive market!) This type of speedy correspondence was present throughout our whole experience. Despite concurrently servicing other clients, Michael always responded promptly to any request or question I had for him. Therefore, it would be wrong to give Michael anything other than a 5 star "immediate" rating regarding his responsiveness. Lastly, my home buying voyage was not exactly smooth. Without going into excessive detail, our closing got pushed back 3 times due to underwriting and changes in the lender's turn time. For a period of week, we were unsure when we would be able to close. I cringed thinking about the sellers keeping my earnest money or demanding extra money for the time past our initial closing. Michael was not only able to ensure that the seller's remained on-board with us as buyers, but also managed to keep all of our terms the same. I should add, that before all of these delays, Michael managed to get the sellers to agree to incur some of our closing costs after our inspection [for something relatively minor, and something we had accepted when we toured the house, but he got it done!] It is evident that Michael's negotiation skills are very strong. Furthermore, his calm and charming demeanor helped keep us sane as we dealt with difficulties with our lender. Again, having such a steady hand in our corner was instrumental in not only getting the house we wanted, but also in maintaining a very favorable offer and conditions for us. Thus, I have to give Michael an "excellent" in regards to his negotiation skills. It is obvious that Michael is a subject matter expert regarding all things real estate and it is even more apparent that he truly cares for his clients and deftly negotiates in their best interest. I know this review may seem hyperbolic, littered with embellishment or just plain old over the top - but as I sit in my new home now, it is hard to imagine everything working out with someone other than Michael. He has our absolute highest recommendation and you will be as grateful as I am if you give him the opportunity to work with you.

Every house we looked at, he was able to point out issues and tell us how much they would cost to fix. He always made sure to check the big items like the furnace and electrical panel in the basement.
