On our second trip to Charleston in November 2017, my fiancA(C) and I decided to look at areas where we might want to some day live. The first place we visited was Daniel Island and the first person we met was Meryl. Although it was late on a Saturday afternoon, she was happy to take us out and show us two areas that she felt would be perfect for us. We spent The rest of that afternoon walking through beautiful townhouses and exploring different neighborhoods. Meryl provided insight to each property and just enough of her personal opinion to help us decide that we were ready to purchase now and that there was no need to look for our dream house anywhere else. We flew home that weekend and then spent the next three weeks trying to decide as to which property to buy. We leaned on Meryl a lot for analysis and information which she provided both quickly and accurately. We returned to DI the first weekend of December after narrowing our choices down to two homes. That Saturday, we spent several hours again with Meryl running back and forth between the two choices until we finally came down to one on Sunday afternoon. At the end of the weekend, Meryl reviewed the contract with us and we signed off without any doubts and or worries. As I write this review, I am sitting in our dream house. Looking back through the contract and construction process, Meryl stayed in touch, monitored our progress and provided us with quality recommendations for an inspector and other professionals as the closing approached. The closing went smoothly after dodging hurricane Florence. And after a few short weeks, DI feels like our home. We appreciate everything that Meryl did for us and absolutely recommend her as a realtor and a professional.

ZillowVERIFIED We were planning a permanent move from Connecticut and visited Daniel Island in late July of 2016. We met with Meryl who provided us with a detailed review/overview of Daniel Island - the history, the development process and likely growth over the next 2 - 5 years. It was an amazing, all encompassing overview and not at all a "sales" pitch. She then spent the better part of three hours with us looking at properties that fit within our prospective price range and style. The "tour' included all the amenities of Daniel Island as well as the Club. We left knowing that we wanted to move to Daniel Island. Over the next 15+ months, Meryl sent us frequent updates - as to properties and other activities on Daniel Island. We returned over Thanksgiving 2017 and Meryl assisted us inn narrowing our criteria to focus on what we thought we really wanted. She was superb - she challenged us to reflect openly and honestly about what we liked or did not like about all the house she showed us. The process was incredible for us as we left with a much clearer idea as to what would make sense for us and what the alternatives might be (new construction vs. existing houses). She and her partner, Edie Coupe, were able to find us a short term furnished rental for when we were to move permanently in mid-December and focus on the final search. Over the next month she followed up weekly with new properties and Daniel Island updates. In early January Meryl and Edie made sure that we were focussed on properties that really made sense for us (and challenged us to articulate this - very important for us!). We made an offer on January 8th and closed on January 26th. We are convinced that this would not have happened without Meryl, and her partner, Edie, working tirelessly on our behalf. They were thorough, thoughtful, patient - above all they wanted to make sure that we were going to make the right long-term decision. We are thrilled and so very thankful! They are the epitome of 'genuine client service' and are absolutely the best 'ambassadors' for Daniel Island and the community!

Add in the additional factor of shopping for a home in a different state of which you are unfamiliar and the stress is compounded. Our family, living in New Jersey, literally hit the lottery when we came upon Meryl Cromarty of Daniel Island Real Estate during our initial visit to South Carolina. She made us immediately feel at home and through our conversations, was able to identify exactly what we were looking for, be it a resale or new construction. Every home she showed us, during two additional visits, was exactly what we had requested. Time was not wasted on "maybe you might like this, but it doesn't have...". Three months after our initial visit, we went under contract for a new home. During the entire design and build process, telephone and email contact was immediate; she took it upon herself to drive by our lot and email us photos of the progress of our home. Meryl's knowledge of the area, the real estate market and her professionalism is high above the standard. We have bought and sold several homes over the years, and we must say this was the easiest, most unstressful real estate experience we have ever had due to her high level of experience.
