Our house was an unusual house and selling after 43 years could have been a difficult experience. It was originally a carriage house for the house next door. In the early 1900s it was converted to a house and subsequently had three additions. When we decided to sell, we interviewed several agents. Most of them told us all the negatives of our house being on a main road and a different style which would not appeal to many. Some even said, the feature that would sell the house would be the land. Melissa and Stacy, her real estate partner, presented a totally different picture. They both loved the house for its unique features, and craftsmanship in the conversion and additions and thought it would sell quickly and should be priced 25% higher than the other agents. This made us a little wary, but we decided to go with them because of their sincerity. Through the whole process, they were charming, patient and always available. When we had to delay the listing for almost a year, they both said, aEURoeThe important thing is to do what is best for you. We will list it only when you feel comfortable.aEUR? They never made us feel pressured, but instead graciously took the extra time with us, provided us with their professional insight and made us feel as though we were a part of their family. When the listing went live and we worried about all the negatives other agents has pointed out, they both were encouraging and upbeat, sold the house in 10 days and kept us smiling through the whole process. We love you both.

Melissa Lawson is highly recommended. I have worked with multiple realtors over the years, and while all have been good--Melissa really went the extra mile. For us, we were moving from California to Connecticut, but due to COVID and having young children, we were unable to visit in person. First, Melissa took the time to get to know us and our family through multiple phone conversations, so she understood what we wanted and what we felt we needed. Melissa further took the extra effort to video-show multiple homes for us and walked us through all aspects of the home, pointing out positives and potential negatives. All in all we worked with her for a good 10 months until we found the right house for us--including looking in multiple areas adjacent to her primary working area--and she was always helpful and willing to show more. She even volunteered to represent us at the closing. Melissa was very knowledgeable and would point out considerations we would not have thought to consider and was able to help guide us through all aspects of the process. She was careful not to tell us what to think, respecting that everyone has different preferences, but did point out aspects for us to consider in making our decisions. She also did not push us to buy the first house we saw or to purchase the most expensive houses. In sum, we found Melissa to be responsive, hard working, accommodating, and the perfect balance of tough and pleasant. We would use her again, but we love our home and won't be moving anytime soon.
