Relocating our family from Iowa to Tennessee and finding the right home was no easy task, but Matthew went above and beyond to make the entire process so much easier. While my husband was already in Tennessee and able to attend showings in person, I was still back in Iowa. Matthew was incredibly accommodating and made sure I could be part of the process, too. He did countless video walkthroughs so I could see the homes for myself, ask questions, and feel involved in such a big decision, even from hundreds of miles away! He was always willing to show us any house we were interested in, sometimes more than once, and never made us feel like we were asking too much or inconveniencing him. What we appreciated most was his honesty and attention to detail. He didn't just point out the good things about a house; he was equally willing to point out potential problems and help us understand what we might be getting into. He offered suggestions for inspectors, engineers, and other professionals when concerns came up, and even went back to properties with my husband multiple times to take a closer look at issues that could potentially turn into expensive surprises down the road. We never felt like Matthew was trying to hide anything, downplay concerns, or push us toward a sale. Quite the opposite! He genuinely wanted us to make an informed decision and find a home that was right for our family. What really sets Matthew apart is that his dedication didn't end at closing. He continued checking in on us afterward to make sure we were getting settled and that everything was going well. That kind of genuine care says so much about the person he is. Throughout the entire process, Matthew was patient, knowledgeable, dependable, and incredibly thorough. We are beyond grateful for his honesty, kindness, and dedication throughout this entire journey. Review Matt Thomas was my agent twice, first when I bought in Alcoa and again when I sold it, and I can't recommend him highly enough. When I bought, he was patient, knew the area and made the whole process easy. When it came time to sell, he went far beyond what I expected. I had to move before the house sold, and Matt stepped in. He ran a garage sale, and he even kept the flower beds looking nice so the house showed well while I was gone. Knowing someone was looking after the place took a huge weight off my shoulders. He swiftly moved to provide us with a FlexMLS list within a day of first corresponding in February 2022. With a crazy 'buyers market' to dive into, Matthew equipped us with the right mental tools, expectations, and worked to quickly secure viewings, as well as help with coordination of all paperwork for offers that we placed. Once we found our 'future dream home' Matthew stuck through us throughout the entire 6 month duration for the construction of the home we selected. It was a heck of a roller coaster, but without Matthew's honest input, careful attention to detail, and genuine care for our well being we wouldn't be here to write this review. However, working with Matthew Thomas made the home buying portion of the process easy and painless. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, down-to-earth, and not at all pushy. He is a true professional. MORE DETAIL: I knew I wanted to flee the hell that is California and move to the heaven that is Tennessee. After a great deal of research, I settled on moving to the suburbs south of Knoxville. Matthew Thomas was referred to me by a professional colleague in the public safety hazardous devices technician field. I cannot believe how lucky I got with him as my realtor. I flew out to TN to view some houses. Matthew was well-prepared with a route and a plan for the day. He had expansive knowledge about the Blount County area. He knew what areas would have higher utility costs. He knew which areas were developing more infrastructure. He knew the best routes for accessing recreation, and he was frank about the positives and negatives of every property we viewed. On top of how prepared and knowledgeable he was, he was also very easy to talk to. I got along with him straight-away, and if I'm honest, I don't take to people off the get-go that often. I probably spent about 5 - 6 hours in a car or touring houses with him, and the more time I spent with him, the more he earned my trust and confidence. In addition to his real estate knowledge, professionalism, and personal accessibility, Matthew had a great deal of additional knowledge regarding gardeners, painters, electricians, tree cutters, and many other services that a home owner would find useful. Even after we had closed the deal on my new home, Matthew has been a resource to me and my family in getting our new house squared away. I cannot say enough great things about Matthew Thomas. He was recommended to us by a family friend and I could not be more pleased - and blessed - to have him as our real estate agent. Planning to move from one house to another is difficult enough - making it out of state to an area where our 'experience' is practically non-existent is monumental. Matthew has been the perfect agent - his knowledge of the area and market has made finding a new home enjoyable (especially during this time of Covid-19 - which could not have been easy for anyone). Everything from negotiating to processes - he was impeccable - and patient. For two homebuyers coming from Illinois, where things are 'different', he showed patience and understanding - both of which were and are greatly appreciated. & Responsiveness - he still is!! He has been helpful even after our sale finalized. He always, always returns a text! (& I cannot forget to mention his Assistant Tina - very knowledgeable and responsive, as well!! A gem!) I have known him for almost 15 years, and I knew he was the one I wanted to use when it came time to sell our house and look for land to build our dream home. He was involved in the entire process from giving me tips on staging and decluttering our house we were selling to COUNTLESS trips to our land to help us scope things out. He hired a professional photographer for our listing pictures, and he knew the exact time to post the listing. Our house sold in less than 1 day and ended in a bidding war. Review Matthew is the best agent I've ever dealt with! He recently sold a house for us in Knoxville. I'm retired military with 22 years of active service. I've had to buy and sell houses in four different states as a result of frequent moves related to military service. Never have I experienced this much efficiency and responsiveness, even in high transit areas in close proximity to a military bases. His honesty and candor sets him apart from most. He gave us an concise assessment with clear expectations, and developed a plan based on the market. He did not give us false hopes. He provided us with almost daily updates related to what he was doing to make the house sell. He obviously has a gift for marketing properties because he showed the house on several occasions before he'd even had a chance to put the "for sell" sign out! The house was placed on the market the first week in November and was sold with a closing the first week in January.

Review I couldn't imagine a better level of service from a real estate agent. Matthew first met with me when I decided to sell my home, and he walked through my home and outdoor property with me to tell me areas to focus on for repair and refinishing in order to get the most value out of my time and cost. I was impressed with his knowledge of home construction, and he was able to give me advice on all the things I wanted to repair myself, and he had reliable contacts for people that had very fair pricing on things I couldn't do myself. I was so impressed with Matthew that I used his services again when I bought my next home. He took us to see 20 homes in one weekend, and he came prepared for each house with his own personal pros and cons of each house that were important to consider in the purchase (things far beyond what you can read in the home listing). On top of that, he made note of the things that my fiance and I liked and didn't like about each home, and within a few days he searched based on our criteria and found our dream home that we are absolutely in love with! We couldn't have imagined a more perfect ending! Matthew made the whole process of selling and buying a home as painless as possible with a lot of great advice at each point along the process. I will always recommend Matthew to anyone I know buying or selling a home.
