I was not feeling very optimistic about the prospect but Matt stayed calm, assuring, and focused on my needs as a home buyer. Amazingly enough, Matt was able to get an early offer in on a place that fit my needs and we had it accepted and under contract within two days! There were many other factors taking place during the contract period and Matt remained on task and communicative throughout, bringing the whole transaction to a close with perfect timing on my move in date. ZillowVERIFIED If you are looking to move into the Central Oregon area, Matthew Gilman is the person you should work with! Matt is a total professional. He is highly motivated and quietly competent. The first person I contacted took a week to get back to me. Matt got back to me right away and worked hard to find me the perfect place! I lived out of state and was looking to find a home to retire to. I contacted him by phone and asked him to put a bid on a property, that I had seen on-line. He said no! He told me that he would not help me buy something I hadn't seen. "It would be unethical, not to mention ... you wouldn't be happy." Right there I knew I had found the best person for the job!I came to the area for a quick trip and Matt had several places to show me. We looked at 10 or so homes on the first day of my trip and it became clear that I didn't really have a good understanding of what I wanted. Matt re-grouped, and we went out on day two and saw some wonderful places! One of which is the house I purchased!Matt didn't stop there! He became my Oregon Straw Boss and oversaw all of the inspections, while I went home and prepared to move! There are a number of things that I have never had to deal with before, like a Well, Septic and Propane .... Matt explained them all and I am now happily living in Paradise, in a wonderful home! He went way above the call of duty on many occasions to help us out, and, crucially, found us a mortgage broker who made sure our closing went smoothly after our first brokers office closed without warning. ZillowVERIFIED We've been aiming to move to the greater Bend(ish) area for a while, but had real pricing constraints, plus a few specific requirements on the property (horses...). As such, we've been involved in a few bidding wars, a few missed opportunities slipping through our hands and a few instances of plain bad luck.After a year of failures, we let our previous agent go - we were tired of losing houses - and hired Matt. Shortly afterward we found a hidden gem of a house, a foreclosure with an insanely complicated buying setup involving out-of-state realtors, unfathomable bank ownership and bizzaro-world auction process.Matt was fantastic. He bulldog'd his way to find the realtor on the other side fo the country (who didn't really care about anything in Oregon - she was just a foreclosure clearing house agent out of Georgia). We got a lot of great information about the crazy setup of this purchase because of that connection. Our previous agent would probably have told us we were out of luck in this situation, but Matt did everything he could to move things forward.Matt helped us figure out local issues and guided us through the purchase process. We managed to pull off a challenging foreclosure purchase (and financing) - and Matt was always available to help, advise and go to bat for us. Along the way, Matt showed us numerous alternative homes and helped us think about pros/cons of each - if our main target fell through we had a number of backup options.Matt definitely earned his commission and comes with my full recommendation.
