ZillowVERIFIEDWe worked with Matt to sell our home in Manchester. When we first started the process, we felt that Matt would be the right person to guide us and get us the best outcome from the stressful process of selling our home. The listing descriptions and photos all looked great and we were excited to get our home on the market. Our son is special needs so scheduled showings would be a challenge for us. Instead, we focused on Open Houses twice a week. This went well for a time, but then as the weeks dragged on it became apparent to us that Matt's team started to lose enthusiasm for our listing. It felt like we had to strongly encourage them to be available for the weekend Open Houses, even offering to show it ourselves if someone from the team wasn't available. After the 30-day mark, Matt requested that we have a review of how things were going, at which time he suggested we cut our price by $25k to drive more engagement and get more offers. We politely declined and asked Matt to work some additional angles to get us an offer. Which he did and shortly after we had two offers: one cash offer below our asking, and one offer at our asking price. Success! We accepted the full price offer and were ready to move forward with our lives. Unfortunately from there things became extremely difficult and this is where we needed Matt's guidance the most and where we felt most letdown. Without getting into excessive detail, once we accepted the offer we felt that Matt's focus turned from being our ally to simply getting the deal done at all costs. When the buyers asked for concessions, we felt pressured to accept them in order to keep the deal together. The final and most stressful issue occurred after the buyers took possession and would not return our security deposit, ultimately a situation that could have been avoided had Matt been more involved in the process with us to the very end. The brokers at Reinhart were excellent to help us resolve the situation, but ultimately it would have been best to avoid it entirely.

We had the pleasure of meeting Matt when he sold our daughter her condo in 2020 then again in November 2022 when she decided to sell her condo and purchase a house. The next step for us was to find a home, we again put our trust in Matts hands and after several months we found the perfect condo for us. We all knew instantly that this was our home the moment Matt opened the door to show us. Matt was always on top of any issue that came up and was very proactive in finding solutions quickly when needed. The only downside to having purchased our home is that we do not have Matt in our daily lives as Matt has become a treasured friend!

ZillowVERIFIED Matt McKernan, was a great asset to our home purchasing team. His responsiveness to us was immediate and worked beyond the typical timeline of a home purchase. Matt and I first talked processes and timelines in mid summer and went into detail about what to expect, when to apply for qualifying letters, and when to put an offer down to match our closing time of February. This enabled us, as first time home buyers, the comfortability we needed and prepped us as much as possible before we placed an offer. Matt also showed us multiple homes and created a personalized home search engine that gave us up to date info on every property we found interest in. Matt was also a tremendous team player and negotiator. He and our Mortgage lender worked together to find the best solution for financing our property and did so with complete transparency as we had team meetings virtually to make sure that all three of us were on the same page. As with many home purchases, nothing is completely predictable or goes to plan. In those instances, Matt, dealt with our barriers quickly and professionally. Finding solutions to satisfy both us and negotiated with the sellers to get us across the finish line and into our beautiful new home. Finally, Matt, went beyond the call and rescued us on the I-94 corridor as we suffered a catastrophic flat due to construction debris, He picked us up and chauffeured us to closing, then drove us to the auto shop were I could purchase the items needed to complete the repair and drove us back to our vehicle off the shoulder waiting for us to complete the fix safely before we parted ways. All in all, Matt, knows the area market and will smoothly negotiate on your behalf. He's professional and transparent throughout the entire process. Finally, he's a genuine real-estate agent that seeks to provide the best service possible. I happily recommend Matt McKernan to anyone that appreciates transparency, professionalism, and courtesy. Being brand new to the home buying world I of course had a bunch of questions and he was very patient with me and had no problems answering them quickly. Matt knew exactly what I was looking for before I even think I did and we accidently found the perfect home for me in the beginning of the pandemic. Despite the new rules, laws going into effect every week and world going crazy he made the experience seem effortless and seamless. We saw the home and had the inspection before the stay at home order. That was unfortunately the last time I got to see Matt due to the new laws going into effect. That didnt stop him from reaching out and being with me every step of the way. He stayed in touch and walked me through every step via text. I put in an offer a couple hours after seeing my home and it was accepted four hours later. A month later I closed on the home. Matt connected me with a team of people that made this a great experience and super easy despite the COVID issues at hand. During the process of making an offer and agreeing on all issues the sellers we were dealing with were quite difficult.
