With every offer we made, Matt and Mickey made it clear that we should only go as far as we are comfortable, whilst giving precise industry knowledge and leveraging contacts every step of the way. Jamie and Mickey who we interacted with often) are extremely knowledgeable on the Chicago market, particularly Lincoln Park/River North/Lakeview area we were looking at (I'm sure he knows others well too). He has relationships other agents, properties, 3P experts that help provide good intel and guidance throughout the process. The team is very professional, responsive at all hours/days and is willing to give an answer and opinion on any question. Matt himself is a very smart, fast-moving, straight-shooter. I highly recommend him and his team if you are trying to compete and win on a short timeline, or if you are moving to Chicago from out of town - they handled all of this very well. We were first-time homebuyers and found him good at walking through the process and what to expect. Matt's team handled a lot of blocking and tackling of the process, but whenever we wanted to chat with him directly, he was available and gave us his time - I was impressed at how well he balanced working with us vs his team. That said, if you need hand-holding on viewing each listing, talking about pros and cons at length, etc. I'd suggest another agent who has fewer clients and operates at a slower pace. Working with Matt and his team, you will review lots of listings yourself (various networks/platforms he hooks you up with) but then you flag interesting ones to him to then discuss and make tactical decisions on. This worked well for my wife and I who were trying to buy from afar and had a tight timeline to move. Likewise, I think if you are a Type A person/on top of stuff yourself, Matt and team are a good fit for you. There are some moments in the period between bid/sign and close where random topics come up and my wife and I were very on top of it and pulled his team in where needed... I could see other buyers needing more handholding and advocacy than we got. Again, it worked well for us, but maybe not for everyone. All said, we are fans of Matt and his team, would recommend, and plan to work with them again (hopefully not too soon)!

ZillowVERIFIED Selling our Chicago condo turned out to be far more complex than a typical real estate transaction, and I honestly don't think it would have gone as smoothly without the Laricy team and attorney Lisa Saul at Forde & O'Meara. This wasn't a standard sale. The property was in a non-warrantable building with pending special assessments, it was tenant occupied, and the title situation involved my elderly mother, who lives in Portugal and was the sole surviving joint tenant. The transaction required extensive coordination between the title company, attorneys, international documentation, notarized and translated documents, corporate restructuring, buyer negotiations, and strict closing deadlines. One example really illustrates the complexity of the transaction. At one point we were simultaneously coordinating title documents and affidavits from Portugal, arranging certified translations and notarizations, creating a corporation to facilitate the transfer, negotiating multiple escrow agreements with the buyer over special assessments and tenant occupancy, and coordinating a narrow window for my mother to pre-sign the closing documents while she was briefly visiting the United States. Despite all of these moving parts, the team kept everything organized and moving forward without missing critical deadlines. Throughout the entire process, Matt Laricy's team and Lisa Saul's office were exceptional. They were proactive, responsive, and incredibly organized. Every issue that came up was explained clearly, along with the available options and their recommendations. Rather than simply reacting to problems, they consistently stayed several steps ahead. What impressed me most was their dedication. I routinely received updates during evenings and weekends, and I always felt they were actively managing the transaction instead of simply waiting for things to happen. When difficult negotiations arose with the buyers over inspections, special assessment escrows, tenant issues, title issues, and closing terms, they remained professional, firm when necessary, and focused on finding practical solutions that protected my interests while keeping the deal moving. Communication throughout the process was outstanding. Every email and phone call was answered promptly, and I always knew exactly where we stood. Despite the complexity of the transaction, I never felt like just another client. Matt was able to assist us from our first introduction, all the way through close. His responsiveness throughout the process made everything run smoothly and gave us comfort he would be available when we needed him. His team was great at showing us properties (shout out JP), pointing out what we needed to look for depending on the types of units and identifying certain red flags. They also were great at helping us understand offer timing and how quickly we needed to move if we did want to put in an offer. Once we decided to make an offer, Matt was there to answer all our questions, or reach out to the sellers agent to get us comfort on any items remaining. Once our offer was accepted, the assistance moving towards close was crucial to make our quick close easy and understandable.
