She worked with me for nearly a year and a half to find the right condo, and throughout the entire process she remained patient, supportive, and genuinely committed to helping me find a home that fit my needs. The market was challenging, with very limited inventory and multiple-offer situations, but Emily never gave up. We lost out on two condos to higher bids, yet she continued searching and encouraged me to stay focused on finding the right place rather than settling. What impressed me most was how carefully she listened. As I'm getting older, I wanted a manageable condo with no stairs and with the primary bedroom and laundry on the same floor. Instead of pushing me to compromise, she respected my priorities and kept looking until we found a condo that checked all the important boxes. Her professionalism, responsiveness, knowledge, and persistence made a potentially frustrating process much easier. I always felt she truly cared about helping me find the right home, not just completing a transaction. My Mom moved into an Independent Living facility in September 2024 so we needed to sell the house that my Mom and Dad built in 1997. Our Family had many wonderful memories in that house and there were 88 years of accumulated treasures that had to be moved out. I live in Midland, MI and was unfamiliar with the Real Estate scene in Ypsilanti, so I interviewed 6 local Realtors to find the best one that satisfied my requirements of getting the most money for the house and selling it within 1 month. Mary Jos realtor experience, successful sales history in Ypsilanti, assessment of Moms house & market conditions, recommendations for house preparations, strategic marketing plan (website, social media, professional photography, open house, etc.), communication plan, schedule, sales support team organization, digital lockbox, and extensive list of vendors to help prepare moms house for sale differentiated Mary Jo from the competition. I leveraged the Carpet Cleaner, Window Repair, and Landscaper from Mary Jos extensive very helpful vendor list. Mary Jo had a realistic perspective of the value of house in the current uncertain chaotic economic environment that we find ourselves in along with the time of year the house was being listed and proposed a listing price that would sell the house in 1 month. Due to bad past experiences, was nervous and cautious about everything, but this team made it pleasant and reassuring through their 100 percent commitment and dedication to their client. To begin.. Michael is the concierge with the nice soothing voice you would want to expect when calling multiple times day to the office and still not be annoyed with you ;) Kelly was always on top of marketing materials and listing information. She had dug up more details about my house history then I did which helped to support the condition of my house. Then there was Mary Jo.and she knows how to NEGOTIATE! i ended up with a great deal and above asking price even though it didn't look promising as market was slowing way down and other similar houses were dropping prices. These professionals are pros and are great at what they can do. Each one brings their specialty onto the table. My journey with The Bouma Group began with my realtor - Mary Jo (Listing Agent & Director of Sales). When we first met at my house, her professionalism, patience, attention to detail, thoroughness, and kindness rang through immediately. With her commitment and exceptional market knowledge to get my house sold, I knew she was the realtor for me. The transition to Kelly Stone (Listing Manager) was effortless. Kelly coordinated the photographer, photo layout description of the listing brochure, and timeline of each step. She also assisted in the time show app to know when potential buyers were interested in viewing the house. She did such an outstanding job with the photos and description I fell in love with my home that I was selling all over again! During this time, Michael Barbour (Client Concierge) with his charming and professional demeanor, provided updates of my listing on social media. He was always available to direct any concerns to the appropriate staff. Once we had a buyer and got to closing, Marissa Franklin (Closing Manager) jumped in with providing detailed guidelines to the closing process. Her knowledge and incredible delivery provided such ease through all of the documents and docu-sign processes. Any and all details were addressed and communicated so effortlessly. All along the way, Mary Jo was there every step to coordinate, walk through details and make sure that I didn't have any questions or need anything else. Obviously, making an informed decision is the most important part of selling (or buying) a home. But personally, as being aEURoeemotionallyaEUR? invested in selling the home I love to be with the people I love, having someone who properly set, managed and came through with exceeding all expectations was such a lifesaver and made me feel at ease through the entire process.. Any and all tasks, even outside of what I would think would be in their job description were done so well that it felt as though I were working not with a realtor, but a friend who had my best interest at heart.

Review Worked with Mary Jo. Found her to be knowledgable & connected. Her knowing the buying agent helped the transaction proceed smoothly. Her knowledge of the area helped us price the house perfectly (higher than we initially expected). The whole crew is really organized. Martin's video of our home is kind of a keepsake to remind of all the good times we enjoyed in it.
