ZillowVERIFIEDMarlene helped me with buying a home in Illinois while I was still living in Texas. She was the best!! She made it a point to be available to me whenever I was in town, and on the phone. When we went to showings she was an expert at pointing out potential problems, and things to consider when looking at homes. I would buy a house with her again, no questions asked!

ZillowVERIFIED Marlene is amazing! She took care of us through the whole process of buying our dream home. She is so knowledgeable and detail-oriented. She guided us in every visit, always pointing out what we should be looking, considering and evaluating. She was always there for us when we needed to put a last minute offer, or letting us know about great opportunities. I am so thankful for her hard work and for being with my husband and I through our journey. We couldn't be happier, we found exactly what we were looking for!

ZillowVERIFIED Marlene guided us every step along the way until our house sold. She was an invaluable part of us selling our home quickly and for a good price. First Marlene did a walk through and made a list of everything we needed to do to get our house ready to sell. She also recommended various professionals such as roofers and a home stager. We used the people she suggested and were very pleased with their work. Marlene was very patient and flexible when we needed to change the date for the photographer several times. Marlenes photographer was top notch and his photos displayed the charm of our house. She did extensive research to price our home appropriately so that it sold quickly, and passed the appraisal process. Within 5 days of being on the market we received multiple offers. She helped us choose the best offer, and within 30 days we closed. Although getting a house ready for sale is a stressful process, Marlene helped make it a smooth process. She went above and beyond to help make our home sale successful.

ZillowVERIFIED We used Marlene several years ago when looking for a townhouse to rent and were very pleased with our experience. This time we were ready to purchase a home of our own and knew just who to call! Being first time home buyers was a little overwhelming but Marlene was very helpful and extremely patient with us which made the process go much smoother. Come rain or shine she was always willing to make time for us and show us any potential listings. She is incredibly knowledgeable and we really appreciated her honesty. She would always point things out that we may have otherwise missed and as first time home buyers that was especially helpful for us. She has a very positive attitude and always got us re-energized and re-focused whenever we started to get discouraged. When we finally did find our dream house, Marlene was right by our side to guide us through the purchase. She was very good about keeping open communication and made sure we were completing every necessary step in the process. If it wasnt for her I dont think we would have gotten the deal finalized. We are truly grateful that we used Marlene and we highly recommend you do the same!

ZillowVERIFIED We had such an amazing experience with Marlene! We are so happy with how friendly, knowledgable, and flexible she was during our house search and buying process. When ever a house popped up on the market she was the first to let us know and we were in that house for a tour in the next day or two. She was so patient with us while trying to find our perfect home. We are so pleased with everything she has done for us and we now have our dream home because of all her help!

ZillowVERIFIED Marlene was highly recommended by a friend of a coworker to help us find a rental property. We were in a time restraint as we were relocating to Illinois and needed a realtor that we could trust to be our "eyes" as we would be leasing the property unseen. I was initially leery as not having met Marlene, I was unsure if she would be dedicated enough to find me a place that would meet all our needs. I was blown away by her professional manner, timely response, and most importantly, her detailed explanation of room sizes, color of walls and even window treatments. Marlene sent us numerous listings and we applied for several, however our credit was not the best and we did not get accepted for the one we really wanted. Marlene explained that credit and prior history plays a part in rentals just like in a mortgage loan. I finally did get to meet Marlene when we moved into our beautiful rental and she is everything that anyone would want in a realtor. What I didn't know at the time is how little commission realtors make on rentals and am surprised that she was as dedicated as she was. All I can say is that if you are looking to buy a home or sell - Marlene Castagna is the realtor that you need.

ZillowVERIFIED I have worked with Marlene as both a buyer and a seller. She is an exceptional real estate agent. She is professional, considerate of the customer's needs and attentive to all the details that go into a home sale or purchase. She sees and points out the little things that you as a buyer or seller might miss, like a water leak in the ceiling or an in insulated garage door. She can help you see how a property can be turned into your home. She has an excellent sence of style and design. Marlene also has a wealth of service contacts behind her so if you need a plumber, electrician or painter to get a job done, she can help you find the right person for the job. Marlene is willing to turn over every leaf and go the extra mile with all of her customers and makes herself readily available to meet your schedule. I have seen her in action and know it's true. Bottom line. Marlene will do whatever it takes to find you your perfect home and see that you have an excellent buying/selling experience. I would highly recommend Marlene to anyone in need of real estate services.

ZillowVERIFIED Marlene viewed homes with me and had an understanding what I needed. The place I signed the lease for was way too small and she even said sleep between two bedrooms. She totally misrepresented the place and cost me $2600 just to break the lease, which of course she could do nothing to help me with. Please use AT YOUR OWN RISK.

However, Marlene stuck with it and never wavered with getting the transaction completed. I would do business with her again without hesitation. Paul

ZillowVERIFIED Marlene is extremely connected and networks with her peers. It seems that in this real estate market, this connection is more important than open houses or showings. She's brutally honest, and you can be honest right back at her! But also is open to your suggestion. She's intuitive on pricing, but don't lose yourself in her exuberance. But LISTEN to her when it comes to choosing a starting price, if you're not seeing action take her advice to change decor a little. Stand firm in final negotiations, and you'll be satisfied.

ZillowVERIFIED Marlene is an outstanding, knowledgeable, and honest agent. She responded to my every call and email immediately. I was selling my home in Chicago and needed to find a new home in a certain location very quickly. Marlene accomplished this in less than 10 days. I was able to close on both houses on the same day. I now have a beautiful home that I love. Marlene worked very hard to accomplish this, and it would not have been possible without her. ZillowVERIFIED We have contracted with Marlene Castagna twice in order to assist us with selling our homes. She first helped us in 2003 and then again most recently in March 2013. Marlene is very professional and maintains a great attention to detail. In both sales we never needed an Open House since both homes sold within 2 weeks of going on the market. We have had great success using Marlenes expertise and would highly recommend her services.

ZillowVERIFIED I cannot say enough good things about Marlene! We were first time home buyers and very naive about the process of purchasing a house. Marlene guided us every step of the way! She was always on our side and fighting for what was best for us. Our buying experience was a long one and after two short sale offers that fell through, we were pretty distraught. Marlene was always there to pick us up and get right back out there looking at houses. She was very patient and helped us find the wonderful home we are in now. Her response time is always prompt. Whether we sent her an email at midnight or 6 AM her response was always within 5 minutes to a half hour. She has many connections (inspectors, brokers, lawyers, etc.) that helps the process run smoothly, which is especially helpful since we did not know where to start with many of those. I would recommend Marlene to anyone, and have already given her name to many of our friends. She is very knowledgable about her profession and is always on her client's side. We had a great experience with her!
