Buying a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions you'll make in life. My advise is simple. Prepare first then act with confidence. Start with your finances. Understand your credit, reduce your debt and speak to a lender and let them know your comfortable monthly payment for a mortgage and start from there. Yes, sounds backwards but rather than know your maximum amount of what you qualify for, I believe it's important the maximum amount per month to pay toward mortgage payment so that you still have enough to go on that weekend trip. I believe a home purchase should add to your life, not prevent you from living your life.

First, start packing up slowly. Do your "spring cleaning" all year long so that when you are ready to sell your home, you've already done the work in "getting the house ready". Little by little is key. Selling a home is emotional. Take your time and enjoy the journey. If you have to do it all at once, it adds to the stress of selling. Secondly, work with a professional who brings a clear plan and who has a clear understanding of how to maneuver different markets. Instinct is not learned in a book, it comes with experience.

I have worked with all types of clients. That's what makes my work not work. I help people go as quickly or as slowly as they need. I hold my client's hands through difficult times, such as divorce or the loss of a loved one, or even a foreclosure situation. I also hold my client's hands through happy and growth time, such as getting married or having twins on the way and they need a bigger home. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel through life with my clients as they embark on their next level.

A transaction I am fond of....there are so many! One I can talk about is the one that wasn't a transaction and I was actually able to help a single mom stay in her home and not be foreclosed on. My heart is full just thinking about it.

I always knew I loved Real Estate. I watched so many infomercials growing up. I decided I would maybe become a real estate attorney when I turned 44 and in the meantime, I went to get my real estate license and started as a part time agent while I was still teaching middle school math. Eventually I left the classroom. I now apply my math skills in my real estate career while negotiating on behalf of my clients.

I do, my math degrees help a lot. Understanding numbers helps me gift my clients understanding the mathematics involved in buying or selling a home. The teacher in me explains the process of buying and selling from a prospective of educating buyers and sellers to help them make the best decisions for them.
