ZillowVERIFIED I personally interviewed 14 agents from five of the "High-End" Real Estate companies on Long Island. We wanted to sell our waterfront family home in Lloyd Harbor and obviously receive the highest value we could. We were absolutely NOT interested in Agents who just wanted the listing and gave "inflated values" and associated misleading and unrealistic "promises"! This unfortunately, seemed to be the "norm" from researching other listings and reading feedback! Each respective agent came and went, and gave their best "sales-pitch" and explained why they were the "right" agent to sell our custom built waterfront home. It became quite clear that every presentation and their associated handout materials were basically exact copies of each respective agents "pitch"!....And then came along Maria!.....Within the first several minutes of meeting, Maria gave me an "out" if I felt she wasn't sincere or I just didn't wish to proceed any further for ANY reason Whatsoever! WOW!! I only wish that majority of the prior agents gave me that option! A lot of my time and effort wouldn't have been wasted!.....After all was said and done and everything was carefully analyzed and discussed with other family members, Maria stood out well above and beyond the other agents! Maria was by far the most honest and truthful and REALISTIC! Maria was "blunt and to the point" when the "others" just gave false expectations, and just plain "delusions" as to what the value of our home was!. Maria also gave an honest scenario and what ended up to be an almost an exact time-frame as to what was most likely to be expected. And this was ALL before we signed with Maria! Once we signed with Maria, I was ALWAYS kept up to date and TOTALLY involved and kept up to date with EVERYTHING! And I am NOT exaggerating! This was literally every email and phone call. After a showing and open-house, Maria always gave truthful, feedback, input, and advice even when the truth "hurt" sometimes!... Maria always stood out well above and beyond her fellow agents for her downright honesty and most importantly REALISTIC expectations for our home! And this was PRIOR to being given the listing and even until the closing! Maria highly cares about, and gives the maximum effort and quite frankly does her job extremely well! Maria then listed our house (a very hard sell: main line lirr train running behind our property, double yellow out front, our driveway was surrounded by 3 stop signs) and had it in contract, sold & closed within the next 5 months. She is UNBELIEVABLE! In the interim, she found us the best possible agent to sell a property we had in Southampton. It is customary for a referring agent to receive a part of the commission at sale: Maria did not ask for or take a dime from that sale. She did, however, check in often with the agent in SH to be sure all possible measures were being taken for a SMOOTH and PROMPT sale.
