ZillowVERIFIED While living in New York City, my wife received a great job opportunity in Chicago and we decided to move... after 25 years in NYC, we were looking for a change. However, we weren't vaccinated, couldn't travel, needed to move soon, and barely knew Chicago. Normally, we'd never consider buying a house without seeing it, so, we had a choice: rent or trust someone's opinion. Enter: Marc Dumas. Marc was referred to us and we told him our time to look for condos was limited. After a friendly conversation over Zoom about what we needed, he provided us a database with many apartments that all had features we wanted. Once we decided to buy, instead of rent, it really was pretty simple... you need a loan agent? He knows a good one. You need an attorney? He had a few suggestions. What about an inspector? Yep, he had suggestions for inspectors. We looked over the 3D images of the apartment again and again and really liked it, but, were things as they seemed? Marc periodically checked in with us and was nice enough to look over the apartment in person; once on his own and again with the inspector. Without rambling on and on, we got to Chicago and we love the condo. The big advantage of working with Marc is: when you need to bring other people into the buying process, he has a number of people to help... all professional, all very friendly. My current job is pretty crazy; I didn't have time to look for people... so, I trusted Marc and it worked out great. No hidden fees, no hidden charges... it really worked out great.

We happened to meet him at an open house and immediately connected over his deep and broad knowledge of Chicago and assessments of the various neighborhoods we were considering. We were moving from out of state and in spite of the various complexities that brings it was never an issue from Marc. At one point we couldn't be in-town for some showings and he face-timed with us so we could still make it happen. Marc gave us good guidance when it came to negotiations and we felt like he truly had our best interests at heart when giving us advice.
