Lexie was fantastic to work with as first time homebuyers buying from out of state. Lexie was personable, genuine and attentive in communicating with us. We started out interviewing about ten realtors in one week to sell our house in Alexandria, VA, six who we located via Google search and four more who friends had recommended. We spoke to Lexie Doud of the Shepherd Homes Group on the phone and then met with her later in the week to show her our house and discuss details. This is also how it went with several of the other realtors but after meeting Lexie we both agreed she is the one who can sell our house and get us the best price. We agreed with the advice she gave us, her perspective on and understanding of the Alexandria housing market and her pricing strategy. So we signed with her with great expectations and we were never disappointed. This sale was not as easy as we originally hoped, but only because the economic circumstances in the Washington DC area at the time pushed a larger than usual number of people to list houses before the Spring market typically began and far fewer people were showing up to buy. Even so, with Lexie our house sold and we were under contract at the price we expected to get in 30 days when in years past it may have only taken a week. 30 days is actually very quick under the circumstances because many of the other houses that were listed when ours was were not even under contract by the time we completed our sale. When we first signed with Lexie as our realtor we were able to move out of the house right away and our house needed a slight cosmetic refresh. Lexie had a contractor on call to repair and paint walls and ceilings as well as applying her design and decorating talent to updating lighting and door hardware to give the whole house a polished coordinated look that made it more desirable. She also had stagers on call to outfit the house in a modern artistic look that further increased its appeal. From the first open house things were slow, but Lexie and the Shepherd Group have access to a number of online marketing resources which ultimately proved vital to our sale and attracted the right buyer. Throughout the process of preparing and selling our house Lexie tackled every challenge immediately and thoroughly and every time we sent her a question through text or email we received an answer almost immediately any day of the week. When we first met her Lexie told us that she became a real estate agent after searching for her own home and being disappointed by her agents level of effort. She felt that someone buying or selling their home deserves more and based upon our experience with Lexie she puts 100% of herself into her clients experience and gets the job done. If you choose to work with Lexie we feel that you will never be disappointed.
