Laurie Mangen

Q: 1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?

I would first bring them through a 1 on 1 home buying course which will give them the knowledge as to what to expect in the process.

Q: 2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

Remove the emotion and memories as much as possible that have been made in your home. Look at the comparables and price your home right.

Q: 3. What types of clients have you worked with?

Everything from first time, luxury and anywhere in between buyers. I also work with home owners so they can achieve the next chapter of their lifestyle.

Q: 4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

I recently worked with a single woman going through a divorce who had never owned her own home. She was strapped for money and we worked with a lender to get her an American Dream loan. She was able to secure a loan with just $1000 out of her pocket. It was magical to see the look in her eyes when she knew the home was hers.

Q: 5. How did you get started in Real Estate?

I always had an interest in real estate throughout my adult life. When I moved from California to Minnesota, I had the financial freedom to realize my passion full time.

Q: 6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

A large part of my clientele is the mature population. I teach classes at Adult Community Education on Sr. Housing Options and Downsizing.

We recently worked with Laurie Mangen and Sara Vix to sell our home as we were in the process of building a new one. They were both excellent to work with. Laurie and Sara's professionalism and expertise were evident when they came to our home to share what they believed the value of our home was in the current market and gave us an overview of the process from beginning to end. We followed their recommendations and those from their professional home "stager," and started the process of preparing for our first open house. We were very pleased with the results as we received a very good offer on our home within the first few days. Once the purchase agreement was signed, Laurie continued to work with us through the process of ensuring all of the remaining details were handled and shared communication between the buyer (via their agent) and us. It all went seamlessly. Working with Laurie allowed us to focus on the details of our new home as well as preparing for our move. We would highly recommend Laurie (and Sara) to others who might be thinking of selling their home.

Laurie is fantastic. She led us through the process of selling our first home, buying our second, selling it and buying our third home over the course of about 10 years. She is patient, supportive, encouraging, responsive and knowledgeable. She is proactive and helpful in understanding the process. She makes things happen and will do whatever possible to make her client happy. She truly enjoys her work and helping people. I cannot recommend her enough. She will continue to be my agent for any future real estate needs.

Laurie was an absolute dream. She went from realtor to friend quite quickly in my life. As a first time homebuyer and recent new resident returned to USA, she spent months before I was ready to buy really preparing me and educating me on things to know. She help me build my credit And she shared great ways to save my money for down payment. She taught me lots of realtor lingo & helped me evaluate homes for their real worth and really taught me the process and prices on estimating future appliance costs and possible renovations for homes we looked at. I would pick homes that were pretty and she taught me while we were there, touring - which homes looked great and were actually great or not so much. She was very serious about her boundaries and laws for sharing regarding realtor rules. She never broke trust or gave in when I pleaded her to tell me secrets! Honestly, I am so happy with my home and everything I learned. I look forward to working with her on my next adventure, maybe a cabin on the lake. Thanks to her time and great energy, I was able to find the perfect home for me. 10/10 highly recommend! Straightforward - Honest - Funny! Best realtor in town!

I was a complete newcomer to Rochester and had to do all my house hunting alone because my husband was in the hospital at Mayo Clinic. Laurie was so warm, friendly and funny. She told me a lot about Rochester and we were able to look at every house that might be a possibility. I found a house we have now lived in for the past three months. We are so comfortable in the home which is just the right design and size for us. Laurie helped us through a complex buying process which we had to do from a distance and made it happen. She went above and beyond even accepting packages we sent to her office. She has maintained a relationship with us which we value. You are choosing the best if you chose Laurie.
