We were selling our home so that we could move back home to Denver. I had been watching the market for a while and somehow I got connected to Laura through email. Laura began checking in on me about once a month as I had told her that we were not ready to sell yet but hopefully within the next year. She was excellent at keeping me posted on the market status and about a year later we decided to sell. She had made us feel so comfortable and was so helpful during that year that we obviously went ahead and used her as our agent. I found her online after reviewing about 100 agent profiles and am so glad that she turned out to be just as wonderful as people said she would be. We moved from New Mexico so I contacted Laura to ask if she could meet me to show me around back in July 2018. She met me and we discussed and toured the areas I was looking at (Livermore, Dublin, Mountain House, Discovery Bay and Brentwood) plus looked at about 20 homes. Laura knew we where not quite ready to purchase but never once made me feel like we where wasting her time. We stayed in contact and she sent us regular updates of homes that became available that fit our parameters. We would regularly call her and she would rush out to different properties and walk us around via WhatsApp or Facetime. We made offers on 3 properties before we finally found our perfect home. We finally closed at the beginning of December (site unseen) but we knew it would be perfect as Laura had really taken the time to learn what we where looking for. She was completely honest and told us when the carpets where too pink or the wooden floors needed help. She also kept us focused on the school area that we had chosen and even helped us with suggestions to get a variance approved should it be necessary (it was). All together I would say that the whole home buying process was easy, fun, stress free and I would highly recommend Laura Nelson to anyone looking to purchase in the Brentwood area. Laura is the BEST! She did such a fantastic job. Wow. She struck the ideal balance between professional and friendly. She tells it like it is (so refreshing!), and does so with support and understanding. She kept me updated in exactly the way I wanted, and was just 'on it' throughout the entire process. I am slow to trust, but was swift in trusting Laura. The sale of my house was, at times, totally absurd, yet Laura dealt with it with encouragement and patience (for me) and, to my delight, grace and a certain no-nonsense (for the buyers and their agent). She had my back, and was even there for me when I got totally frustrated, offering compassion and, somehow at the same time, keeping me in reality. (Does she have a degree in Psychology too!?) When reviewing a Bay Area realtor one has to distinguish between the purchase itself, and the unmitigated hades that the Bay Area housing market has become. Even when armed with many hundreds of thousands of dollars, you will inevitably face competition from someone with more money, more cash, a better offer, and a willingness to take the property "as-is." You will inevitably face sellers who have become intoxicated with online estimates of their home's value, who have been seduced by years of headlines into believing that their house is worth twice what they paid for it ten years ago even though it is actively and busily falling down. To survive in this environment, the wise adventurer will retain a skilled guide. Laura Nelson and her team of agents, like Nicole Hunt, are the guides you need to avoid mistaking an alligator for a stepping stone. For more than four months they tirelessly discussed properties with me; every day usually. For months they showed me properties that, despite their eastern Contra Costa focus, were spread out in a 100-mile circle. They guided me through multiple offers, some of which went as far as inspections before imploding. Never once did they suggest or infer that I was a lot of trouble, or not worth it, or being unreasonable in my requirements for a home. When my original lender proved difficult to work with during an offer, they connected me with two others. When it was time to finally close on a house, (that they drove over 2 hours from their home base to show), Laura and Nicole were there at every single step. This is who we suggest you use for the inspection, this is how much it will cost, this is when they will be there, this is when your report will be ready, and here is your report. Every single obstacle in the purchase was forcefully bulldozed into a speed bump by Laura and her team. Maybe my purchase was more complex than some, or maybe every home purchase is a series of gut-punch cliffhangers where the entire deal dangles over the abyss, but Laura never gave up on it. I cannot fault any aspect of their representation and the five-star review is well warranted.

I wanted to make sure that time and money was not wasted on an agent. I wanted someone that I felt I would be able to trust with selling my home. After reading Lauras reviews, and looking at the houses that she helped to sell, I called her to request a meeting. She came to my home with a smile on her face and a packet of information in her hands. She spoke to me about her company and the things thats included in her packet. My main reason for having a face-to-face meeting was to see if we would be a good match (our personalities). I wanted to make sure that she had positive energy and was approachable. Less than 5 minutes and I was sold! The decision was made! Before she left I told her we were good to go. From the beginning till now I have absolutely NO regrets. Her company supplied the photographer and a consultation with a stager. Two things that helped show the home for what it is. A great purchase. Her professionalism is amazing. Her knowledge is spectacular. Her skillfulness in managing to keep my anxiety ridden self at ease was above my expectations. She stayed in communication with me about everything. Any question I had, she answered. Because I trusted her with my home, I took her advice and recommendations. With that being said, within 2 weeks I had offers above asking price!
