FAQ
Be sure to speak with a reputable lender prior to looking at homes. It's imperative to learn if there are any hiccups or mistakes on your credit report.
Be realistic with your goals. This is your home but the buyer thinks of it as a house. It's time to cut the apron strings and separate emotion for business.
Clients are unique in every way. Personalities come in every shape and size, don't they? This is a relationship business. Not all will meld well together; but, overall, we find open-minded and flexible to wants and needs takes the relationship far.
Calling on a For Sale By Owner can be touchy. Often the seller feels they are being pitched for a listing. Personally, I only call if I have a possible buyer. This opened the conversation to learn it wasn't a fit for my client but he was priced way below market. In a brief cold call, it led to him asking for me to list it immediately. All was done over the internet within minutes. When meeting later, I asked why he chose me in such a rash way, he said I was the only one who didn't hard sell him - who actually made the effort to be show I had his best interest at heart. His home sold in days AND over asking. These opportunities are rare and make the more difficult times worth it.
I was a sales representative for a real estate magazine and sold ads to REALTORS®. More than once I was told I'd make a good agent, have more flexible hours and I'd be in control of my income. That was almost 20 years ago and I still love this profession.
Of course. It's important to stay educated on the constant rules, laws and regulations of real estate. My certifications and accreditations have provided a sharp edge to serve my clients well. I also appreciate my colleagues having similar backgrounds as I know the transaction will go smoothly.
